Port Requests

Another thing I'd like to see: Open Mugen

https://a5-downloads.phpnuke.org/en/c66465/openmugen-free-download-full-review

http://sourceforge.net/projects/openmugen/

Don't know how good it already is but I'd like to play some MUGEN fighting on Pandora.
There was an old Mugen build, I believe, for Pandora on the previous handhelds repo. Honestly it sucked (nowhere near as good as the original fighting games they try to copy), so I'm not sure if there's anyone really interested to port it :)

You know what mugen is?

It is very extensible :)

If it was on the old repo then we should try a new build.

Seems like there was some work to improve it.

@ ekianjo:

Mugen only comes with one character.

You may add as many as you wish.

Interesting that this was just posted, I was thinking of writing my own fighter engine, and was considering supporting Mugen formats.

So I might have a look at this if I get chance

Edit: Hmmmm, The license says Shareware, and there's no source in the sourceforge project (at least any "recent" code)

OpenMugen isnt an option : not playable.
You could try ShugenDo but I dont know if it's now playable.
Else I ported Paintown which is a mugen clone a few years ago. Should be able to play many mupen games. Paintown received many changes from its author lately. A port should be rather easy using my actual PND and the current sources : my changes have been applied upstream ;) Anyone should feel free updating it :)

But Winmugen with WineX86 on Pandora is an Idea.

I tried bit with it but did not get it run.

Hope that the Pandora WineX86 Project from LinuxBochs not has stopped,it looked very promising for much Things.

:)

I didn't realise Paintown supported MUGEN too, I thought it was just a Streets Of Rage type engine. I'll try and have a gander over the next few days if I get chance :) Thanks!

Edit: Left it to compile, and had a quick test - it runs slow at various points, and crashes when starting Arcade mode. Will need some work to be worth a distro

^^

this game is very nice. :)

I have searched the web and find that is programmed using Allegro and AllegroGL but is not opensource sadly https://www.allegro.cc/depot/Typhoon2001

I can't reach the author page dedicated to this game...only the main page that you linked.

Someone who speek german should write to the author and convince him to release the sources.

If you write to the author ask also for the other game dogfight http://dogfight.kuto.de/ also an allegro game.

Yeah. Tempest 2000 on dosbox work perfectly. Non stop mayhem orgy.

Btw there was a game that just crush original tempest 2000 to dust. It was called tsunami 2010 i think and it was freeware. Try to find it using uncle google

I would really like to see Streamtuner2 available on the P:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/streamtuner2/

It uses GTK and Python and some other Python/GTK-related stuff. It remains the best stream browser out there and unlike many is not tightly coupled with a player. I would kick in on a bounty for this and Streamripper. An interested dev can assess the project and let me know what would be a fair bounty.

I have tried all of the available repo alternatives. Not even close. If a dev gets excited about this, I will also pay a bounty for porting to OS X and Android.

Indeed, I have a faster build.

In game, press ALT-F to show Frameskip: look at the FPS on f1spirit.png :)

I'm trying to fix the road glitches you see in the curves: it's du to many part of the road being display at the same place I think... Quite strange and difficult to fix. *EDIT* no, it's not that. I modified the program to display one QUAD every 2 quad, to be sure, and I can see the strange texture effect on idividual quad (look at test4.png).

And I need to look (again) at the rain effect, it make things slow (try the 2 race, the cross, to experience what "slow" is ;) )
