Well, the cited article is indeed misleading........
Thanks for the insightful response. (and for all of your other amazing contributions too!).
Hopefully there is an easy solution, but If, in a worst-case scenario, a hardware mod is needed; I've used this on a device I made, it works great, and is completely flexible:

One side is self-adhesive, and the cable is quite flexible. Basically we could place the antenna anywhere externally we need to, to overcome any issues.

I've no idea if the Pyras' antenna is µFL plug-able, but worst case would just require a little soldering.

I wonder what's the difference in battery life when:
- Modem turned off
- Modem on so you can receive messages all the time

My prototype doesn't have LTE so I'm curious on how well the LTE version works.
LTE is important for me.
