Hello,
I've read about this game recently and wonder if it could be ported to gp2x. It'was ported for Dreamcast already. Here is a homepage of this game http://rsonic.randomsonicnet.org/frame_features.htm

THE PRESENT & THE FUTURE:

As it stands, the latest version of Retro-Sonic game has been programmed from scratch in the C++ language and makes use of the Direct X API on the windows platform. The latest version of Retro-Sonic has also been programmed to be flexible, making ports to platforms other than windows possible. Any ports to platforms such as Mac OSX would use the Simple Direct Media Layer API (SDL). In addition, the RSDK editor program has been written in Visual Basic.

If it is a 2D game and has been ported to the Dreamcast, it is quite likely it will work fine on the GP2X. I don't have time to try porting it right now though, someone else can do it.

The author of that Sonic engine, Saxman, has already been on these boards and expressed an interest in bring his upcoming Sonic engine to the GP2X.

EDIT: The new engine is called ProSonic.
