Revitalized Sega Franchise On Psp

I don't own a PSP, but I imagine Vectorman would look quite trendy on it. Unfortunately, they'd probably whore it into a 3D platformer.

See, this is what I liked about Sega, prepares for flaming from the Ninty fanboys, but Sega didn't feel the need that every game they made had to involve Sonic the hedgehog, like Nintendo has to have everything revolve around Mario. You'd never see a game like Shinobi or Altered Beast from Nintendo, well maybe but it would be Super Mario Ninja and Super Mario Morph into Animal

I suspect that it will be one of sega's rpgs that will be getting revitalized for psp. i dont see NiGHTS ever getting remade apart from on the Wii (although thats just a rumor at the moment). Vectorman was ruined after they brought it to 3D on PS2 (not sure it was even released). I'd guess Shining Force will be getting remade.

yep knew the fanboys would show up. And how many of those are duplicate games? quite a few i saw.

But yeah, because Nintendo has Zelda series, Mario Series, Metroid Series, Kirby Series, Star Fox series and thats about it.

Yes there are ton of sonic games, that's their mascot just as Mario is Nintendo and there are a ton of mario games. But look at how many games Sega did that didn't involve sonic or didn't use the same old character over and over again from 8-bit to present day.

Like I said, you'd never see games like Shinobi, Panzer Dragoon, Nights, Altred Beast, Hang On even. Virtual On, Fighting Vipers, Virtua Fighter, i could go on and on. Yes there were many Sonic games, but there were also many original first party games. Something Nintendo lacks. Nintendo this day and age incapable of making a game that does not include a character that is at least 15 years old or pokemon. THe best thing Nintendo could possibly do is make first party games that are completely fresh and unrelated to anything they've done before. Nintendo makes great games, but there's only so much Zelda, Mario, Kirby one person can take. Sonic may be the same way, but at least Sega had tons of other first party games to counter the number of Sonic games.

I'm no fanboy, I just spotted your incorrect statement and proved it wrong.

Shall we remove the duplicates?

Brain Training? Electroplankton? bit generations? Animal Crossing? Nintendogs? Yeah, right.

I just dont get it. Why do you hate Nintendo so much? (yeah i know, i know, you own nintendo systems). Nobody mentioned Nintendo until you chose to bring it into the conversation. If you didnt feel the need to point out their supposed franchise shortage, you wouldnt have to worry about "ninty fanboys"

Y'all forgot SEGA SPORTS.

I'm pretty sure none of them features Sonic.

Whereas all of Nintendos sports games are crap because you play dumb games like golf but to make things worse you have to deal with the arthritic slow legs of their tired fat plumber.

I don't hate Nintendo. I dislike Nintendo and I dislike what they've become. If you grew up with Nintendo you'd understand. If you asked me what I like better, PSP or DS, i would say PSP, if you asked me what i like better Xbox, Gamecube or PS2, i'd say Xbox, but when you get to the 16-bit systems, 8-bit systems, gameboy era systems, my answer would be the Nintendo system hands down, I even loved the Virtual boy and still do to this day.

But you've seen since the N64 Nintendo losing the console war, they first blabbed their mouths stating they didn't need 3rd party support, and now they keep blabbing on about reaching out to non gamers. So they focuse all their efforts on teenage or young girls or young kids in general. What was the last mature game they made? Killer Instinct? Golden Eye? Back in the day when Nintendo partnered with Rare they made some pretty awesome games. But now, its the same old kiddy crap using characters from the 8-bit era, yes Kirby and Pokemon are both from the 8-bit era since they debuted on the Gameboy. For some reason, their lust to get non gamers is losing the gamers they already have which i believe is a big reason for them losing the console war.

So now you have the Wii, the new system, the future of gaming, I admire Nintendos guts to take a chance on this system because if the controller fails, the system fails. It doesn't have the hardware or features to fall back on, if the controller fails, then you have nothing more than a fancy Gamecube by the sounds of things. But we'll wait til the system gets released.

But back to the main point. At least Sega got it right. Look at their first party games compared to Nintendo's, you have alot more depth and alot more appeal to all the different types of gamers out there, instead of Nintendo's straight line appeal to the younger crowd.

EDIT: YES, I know it's not Sega...

I think they could do some amazing things with the Pacman franchise, and NO, I'm not being sarcastic or trying to be lame. With some flashy graphics, original/custom mazes, some hidden bonuses, unlockable options, perhaps even a few menu options to add/remove difficulties, you could have HOURS upon HOURS of more fun.

Like rule tweaking.

- Enhanced 3D-style maze with varying camera angles (Isometric top-down/ Chase Cam/ Rotational perspective)
- Power Pellet effects adjustments (less time, random ghost edibility, wall clipping, temporary weapons firing)
- Powerup fruit/items (Wall-jump, ghost stunner, score boost, 1up, speed boost,
- Random "curse" effects (Ghost tractor beam, ghost doubler, speed reduction, ghost speed boost, ghost random location "warp", score reduction)
- Maze Editor with auto pellet fill, and larger potential maze sizes
- Classic mode (naturally from Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man original arcade versions with new interlude animations)

Just off the top of my head. *shrug*

your anti-Nintendo zealotry in every single thread is getting tired.

Reaching out to non-gamers does not solely mean reaching out to young girls- What about the Brain Age series of games? Is that mature enough for you? There are plenty of great games on Nintendo consoles which are not based on the same old characters. Its just small minded people like you who think Nintendo's are just for kids.

Nintendo have to, I repeat have to, reach out to new audiences (whether that be girls or old people or whoever) because they simply cannot afford to compete with Sony or Microsoft in the fight for the hardcore (15-30 male) gamer. They cannot produce and sell the same sort of hardware as the other two at a loss. Innovation is the only way they can stay in the console business.

Nintendo make brilliant in house games. But admittedly, they do need third party support. Thats why the DS and the GBA are so good. We are getting quality in-house Nintendo titles as well as third-party games. But Nintendo need market share. They cant get market share without selling consoles and they cant sell consoles by trying to compete graphically. They need to change things and find new audiences.

Ninty obviously made mistakes in the transition between the SNES and the 64, but hating them for that is irrational. They are currently making and facilitating some of the most exciting, refreshing and immersive games around.

Also, you are being pretty stupid if you believe Sega got it right. At least Nintendo are still making consoles. In truth, neither of these relatively small companies had a chance once Sony and MS jumped on board. Nintendo's best bet is change and innovation. It has worked in the handheld arena with the DS shitting all over the PSP. It might work in the home console arena too.

Back to the topic-

Would love to see NiGHTS. Panzer Dragoon would be cool too- especially a remake of PDS. That'd be immense.
