We are trying to get the full 4000 done, don't you just love a last minute rush? :)

Yeah, you're using an aweful lot of smileys -- what's the good news that's made you so happy? :)

Last minute rush is AWESOME! I work construction here in Las Vegas, and every big casino project has "last minute rush"! I would actually say 20-30% of most big 2 year projects are actually done in the last month before opening. It's just the nature of the beast, not really a big deal once you get used to it!

It looks like 1000 Pandora consoles will be finished early in December now, good times. :)

This is awesome, these make it sound like something good has happened in the last day or so?

Hey Craig, I don't want to get off topic, but do you know off hand if there are anymore units available? I did contact the girls this morning, but they haven't replied yet(I normally hear from them within 24hrs). So I figured while you are floating around leaving tidbits of Christmas goodness, you could say for sure if there are any left in batch one, or has the first batch been officailly closed? I wanted to get a few more since batch two is a ways off, and I know the demand will be fairly high once the first batch finally launches!

There are always units popping up every few days due to people not paying, so yes you will get a reply when someones invoice 'times out'.

Is this just of really real Pandoras? Does that mean the earliest will be shipped is December 1st(ish)? Is there still some chance that a real Pandora (ie, one of the 105 boards) could get assembled and shipped before November?

The 105 could probably be shipped before.

But we are still not sure what to do with them. I know some people definitely DON'T want one of those Pandoras. They are like the Amiga1.2 editions.

Whats the difference between those and the other Pandoras?

Those ones went through all the stress-testing. You really want one of those Pandoras with a used and abused board? ;)

But don't they have a warranty?

Yeah, I'm really waffling here. I've said "don't ship those 105", I've said "when will the 105 be shipped", I've said "stop asking so many questions", and then I've asked questions. Dude, I am such a freakin' hypocrite.

So the 105 that were tested are slightly different to the 3895 in production now?
Obviously the 105 were tested physically through a stress testing process. But was there some last minute modification to the 3895?

I'd consider one of the 105 w/ an extended warranty &/or a discount replacement board. I'm in the first hundred in line.

Either way love the news!

I'm also within the first 100, and would also consider one of the 105. My only real question is how hard the NAND gets hit during the burn-in testing? In the teams estimation, what percentage of the lifespan might be decreased by this testing, along with an estimated lifespan. If it isn't that great a reduction, and/or the unit should last 5+ years, then I would be interested.

From my perspective, extensive testing should prove that the unit is not likely to have any hardware failures in the first few years of operation, as something would've likely shown up during the burn-in. But, if you don't want to ship those units to any customers, that's you're call.

EDIT: Also, what was revised?

I think he means that the first 105 were the revision, and that they've already been tested so it's time to go full scale

Hey Craig are you serious? What new info do you have that makes this statement possible/fact at this point? Did Michael get the last case parts, and has case production been green lighted? I'll keep my fingers crossed, and hope for the best.

Caution - I'm pretty sure he was serious when he said he was "pretty confident" about July. Let's not go assuming that good things have happened (like case moulds having been finished) until they're reported.

Last part of the case should be shipped today (maybe shipped yesterday).
MW probably wont get chance to assemble case due to all the Firmware work going on this week though.

If they had to give additional warranty or cheaper replacement boards, then I'd say not bother not worth the hassle, especially if some people want it and some don't, just keep those Pandora's for other uses, i.e. store demo units, press units, give to an odd indie house or two, could even be used as prizes when your starting second batch publicity drive etc etc

Dude, I doubt they'll ship before November :)
