Hey,

I've been able to get some ROMs going by working within the .zip files of that game. I've renamed files, copied and renamed, and deleted files to get some games to work.

We are supposed to be sticking by the v35b5 list as a guide for what games with play or even show up in the MAME menu. I guess my question is: have any of you guys/gals (whatever) been able to get more recent versions of ROMs to play? What about games that are on newer versions of the ROM list? How did you do it?

For me: Shadow Warriors/Ninja Gaiden (Frickin' love that game) - Use Japanese version of ROM (Shadow Warrior), copy files from US zip and then re-archive.
Space Harrier - Rename a ROM file to that of a missing ROM. So far, it hasn't comlained about it.
Donkey Kong (worst one) - Copied and renamed 3 missing files from one existing 256-bit file. Game plays, but everything is green and orange, everything.

BTW, link of lists of ROM versions (zip files have all the info about zip contents and checksums)
