This was copied from the OpenHandhelds forum since I made the post anyways.

Here is some information on two games that you might have not heard about.

TrackMania

TrackMania is a racing game, but it is not like the ones where you just race around and do a million laps. It is a game where you have a start and a finish and in order to get there, you have to go through loops, do a wall ride, take and land jumps, get around tough corners, avoid hazards like a barrier or wall, etc... If you have heard of "Stunts" or "Racing Destruction Set", this along with other similar games from that era inspired the developers behind this game to make this one. This game has been around for a few years already and has won six awards in the "Guinness World Records" of 2008. The game includes a track editor that is well developed since you can do things other than just making a custom track like make a screen shake or have some text show when you are at a certain part in the track. It also has multiplayer over the internet where you can play thousands upon thousands of custom made tracks against other people.

There are two versions of the game. One of them is freeware, the other is a paid one.

The freeware version is called: TrackMania: Nations Forever
The paid one is called: TrackMania: United Forever

Both games have a few differences. I'll explain the main ones:

* One is freeware, the other you have to pay for
* Freeware has one environment (Stadium) TMUF has seven in total
* In TMUF, you can TA on the leader boards
* Nations players have no Coppers (In-game currency that can be used to buy player-made skins and tracks among other things)

P.S This game used to have StarForce protection. Ever since TM:NF and TM:UF though, it has been fully removed.

Sonic Robo Blast 2

This is a Sonic fangame that has been around for over 10 years now. It began way back in 1998 using the "Doom Legacy" engine and to this day, it still uses it. This game tries to replicate the classic Sonic game play from the Sega Genesis days as best as it can. This means you have rings, shields, three characters, simple plot, and classic gameplay physics. The game is still in development and recently has made progress towards completion. It has multiplayer modes such as match, race, circuit, and CTF. It also has a community who makes maps, textures, characters, and scripts called "Sonic Object Config" that can do certain things.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that this is an open source game so a developer out there could maintain a PSP port, GP2X port, and possible a Pandora port.

The game has two renders: Software which is the one that is most developed and OpenGL.

I myself am an administrator on the forum, an IRC channel operator of the chatroom and a few months ago, a private beta tester for the team.

If you guys want to contact me to maybe play TM or something, I am pretty active in the IRC chatroom at: irc.esper.net #srb2fun
My username is what you see here.

So, discuss!

I had a go with that clone yesterday and it's pretty awesome. It doesn't take long to get through the main maps though and the maps on their forum were a bit blah. I couldn't find a proper multiplayer thing on it either, like with Trackmania where you can see loads of racers, just a thing for recording your top times online.

Hi, guys. I am pleased to announce that as of a few days ago, SRB2 version 2.0 has been released! (Actually on 2.0.2 to fix a few glaring bugs) There are plenty of changes and the most major thing is the fact there are many more zones in the single player campaign now. Of course, this is not the final version of SRB2, but it is a major step closer to completion. I hope to see a new port over to that special system that starts with a "P" that I am waiting for still.

Check it out at http://www.srb2.org

P.S I may sound like an announcer or something, but I am just an administrator that helps out over there and plus, I like the Pandora. :D
