Two 16-gigs Or One 32-gig?

I'm going to need 32gb from the get go. I've already got about 12gb of ripped Playstation 1 games that I've been ripping for the last month in anticipation of the Panda. I've copied all of the data off the disks for Broken Sword too.

I'll probably drop 80% of my music collection on there, that's a good 10gb. The rest will probably be movies.

I have about 100 GB of ISOs.... Of course, I've played through a lot of them and they average around 50 ROMs/ISOs for 10 systems or so and the whole 0.128 MAME Collection (no, I have not played the MAME collection).

Music Collection - 5 GB
PSX ISOs - 5 GB
ROMs - 2 GB
Video - 1 GB
Books - 2 GB

That's around 15 GBs, what I'm gonna put on my Pandora...

What I have is this:

Books: 2.27 GB
Music: 1.24 GB
Videos: Usually 5 Gigs (Varies since I delete after watching)
ScumMVM Games: 4 GB (46 Games)
PSX ISOs: 42.9 GB (77 Games)
DC ISOs: 27.7 GB (47 Games)
N64 ROMs: 346 MB (21 Games)
NDS ROMs: 1.72 GB (50 Games)
Other ROMs: 3.39 GB

Lemme see what I've got:

1.9 GB - Music
3.8 GB - Videos [Some of them are encrypted, though, and I probably have lost the password]
16.3 GB - Encrypted archives of videos that I've probably forgotten the passwords to

I haven't gotten any PS1 ISOs or GBA games together yet, but I estimate I'll need the original Tomb Raider, some of the Need for Speed games, maybe a few others.

right now I'm looking at:
22.0 GB total
13.7 GB I could access if I wanted to [I think I still remember the password to one of my encrypted folders..]
5.7 GB unencrypted
Maybe 2.4 or 2.5 GB I regularly access, and converting my FLAC CD rips to Vorbis will cut 1 GB or so off the music files.

I haven't even begun to plan exactly what I am going to load..I will probably do that when I find out when it's going to get here...but I think I'm going to end up with 1 16GB card (I'd like 2 if possible)...those on sale Patriots are back around $30 I see ...I can get a Toshiba Class 4 16GB for $30 and tax at local store...is the general consensus then that a class 4 is plenty fast for Panda? Or should I stick to thinking Class 6? I saw a Sandisk Extreme II 16GB for $39 (+Tax and Ship) and I think it's rated something like 15 or 20 MB transfer...if I'm loading stuff on the card to primarily leave there...I don't need to worry so much about write time I guess...I'm thinking more of inside Pandora speeds....if there are going to be alternative OS's that load from SD speed would really be important then right? Or is there realistically nothing that should need insane speeds?

I just want to make sure I get the most for my system I will take less space if speed is important or more space if it isn't...anyone know if OP has given any recommendations? After all they should know what we should be looking to get....we just want to make a smart choice...

I dunno what OP's said, but the important system files are mostly in the internal flash. SD cards are just for data storage, and a Class 6 card is more than capable of streaming data fast enough to play DVD video.

It's really a personal choice. I'm probably going to get some 16GBs eventually, but I've already got a 2GB that can hold a few things to get started.r

I just want the 64 gigabytes to come out. How the hell am i supposed to fit all my porn on two 32 gigabyte sd cards? with two 64 gb ones, i might at least be able to get a third of it on them

Even though 64GB SDHC are possible they aren't part of the SDHC spec, so we may or may not see them in store. Also from the reading I have done, it depends on how the pandora handles them as to weather they would be compatible, I'm going to hazard a guess that they will be, but then again they are not supported by the SDHC spec. Maybe someone with a bit more knowledge on SD/HC/XC can elaborate?

By my calculations, the Pandora could store 29 hours of full DVD-quality porn.
Wait, I forgot USB mass storage. Hang on..

edit: According to Wikipedia, there are plans to produce 64GB SDHC cards, they're probably just waiting for the price of SD-making-machines to come down or something.

I don't see anything about that, though I do see that Panasonic plans to make 64GB SDXCs.

Speed? Are 16GB SDHC cards faster than 32GB ones?
To my knowledge, cards with lower memory tend to be faster. I always thought of this because cards with more memory get more fragmented, but I could be wrong.. Hence this topic

Surely that doesn't matter with Solid State Storage as theres no moving parts.

When you get the Pandora, the price of a 32gB will probably drop to the price of two 16gb if you buy them now.
Then a few months later you will want to upgrade to 64gB so you would throw away the two 16gB cards to get 2 32gB cards.
