I know the amiga version exists, perhaps you can try running it under the amiga emulator?

I would love for this game to be ported, or have an interpreter written.

There is UFO 2000, for linux but it's multiplayer only to my knowledge, and requires the original game files.

EDIT: There is also a playstation version. You could try that in emulation, although I doubut it will be fast enough to play, it will work well with a controller out of the box.

Hotseat mode should work ok, although I'm not sure this would be enough motivation for a developer to port it.

It appears that someone has done a remake of UFO for the windows CE handheld platform.

I tried out the windows version and it runs pretty well. Unfortunately, it's not linux, nor is there source available...

I have Pocket UFO on my PDA, my boyfriend says it's exactly the same as the original version.

Cool thanks for the info guys. Now lets hope someone knows the developers of pocket ufo and can persuade them to release the source :)

I emailed them using the form on their website... They seem to speak some eastern european language as a primary language, and I haven't heard back yet... We can only hope for a positive response, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
