What are you playing this weekend/these days?

Arcade Paradise

I played just a little but for many months, because it's a game that can be very repetitive and grindy at the beginning ... anyway I can see the progresses and everything I unlock is always super cool, the 80s/90s details are PERFECT ... the games are all invented but are anyway credible as from that time, the background music are all invented too but are very similar to famous songs of that time.

Anyway, I had the game for FREE from Epic Store, but it's soo cool that I bought it from GOG with every single DLC ... I need more of this ...

EDIT:

Luckily the save game file from Epic is compatible with the GOG version

I have to spoil this thing about the game, because is too cool ...

at some point in the game you can play with a cabinet named "Knuckes and Knees", a beat em up like Final Fight / Streets of Rage, in that game there's an Arcade in the background where you can enter ... and play arcade games !!
(That also will keep record scores !!)

In Legend of the Mystical Ninja you can play Gradius. This is just one of the things that made be realise game devs are the most creative people on earth.

Just finished Yesterday Origins, another great point and click. The 3d characters and items, which you get a zoomed in look at to interact with, fit the 2d backgrounds very well without sticking out like sore thumbs as in some other games. You get the usual item combinations in or out of inventory. But you also get to "collect" up to four ideas which then let you formulate plans on what to do with certain items to reach a particular goal. Voice acting and music are alright, nothing special. Ran into a few bugs of which only the UI breaking was really bad - had to restart the game a few times. Story was interesting and a continuation of Yesterday.
Another good game from Microids/Pendulum is The Next Big Thing.
Just saw that they released Tintin Reporter - Cigars of the Pharaoh a little while back. I'll wait for a deal on that, looks promising.

I just finished Bioshock, decided I need to stick to my policy of not (or rarely) giving up. Found it overrated and monotone. Didn't like the dark, zombie vibe. Maybe I don't like shooters or only really good ones. Maybe I should have been more tactical. Glad it's over. Also playing quite a bit of Street Fighter Alpha 2 these days.

I didn't finish Bioshock, I couldn't be bothered. But apparently there is a deep lore there, so it's still on my to-do list, including its sequels.

The good ending is actually good. I finished the game just for the story.

I loved caring for the flying bots and having them fight for me in Bioshock.

@netcat the boards told me you quoted me, did I miss anything?

I was going to talk about Tintin but the quote wasn't working so I deleted it. I too considered Cigar of the Pharoas. I have a few Tintin games on my 3DS too. Tintin taught me about the world.

Just finished Legend of Grimrock II

I've never played a proper dungeon crawler before this. I started to play this a while after it came out, but dropped it because I didn't get along with it. The movement and combat system had to grow on me and, playing on easy mode, I now got along with it at the end.

What I love about it are the riddles and logic puzzles. This is a game that nails making the player feel smart for figuring something out. To be fair though: I consulted a walkthrough a handful of times - and felt stupid afterwards for not seeing the obvious :-D
If the logic cannot be explored by trying out the possibles moves, the game manages to plant that necessary idea in your head before the puzzle comes up by dropping hints. You find those either within close proximity of a puzzle in a dungeon, or - if it's a bigger puzzle - outside of a dungeon. And that is enough to figure things out eventually.

Taking notes is often helpful in this title. Unless you have eidetic memory you more or less have to write down many things you read and can't carry in your inventory in the form of a scroll or map. It also helped to draw up the layout of e.g. rooms connected vertically, a room that requires you to play "lights out" by walking over the tiles, or writing down the logic of a bunch of switches to come up with a plan.

Audio is good and I really like the visuals. The realistic lighting makes it feel immersive, a high poly count, smooth animations and great textures do the rest.

Highly recommended if you like a "thinking man's" game that is not pure puzzle and has a bit of not-too-hectic action, also character building, inventory management and many secrets.

Was having 2 PC Fighting Games on the AYN Thor yesterday:
Ultra Street Fighter 4,
where i did play the Arcade Mode whit Chun-Li, and even did manage to beat the Mode (in the really easy mode), did work quite good,
and then i did play also Soul Calibur 6, its did surprisly run fine on this Retrohandheld, only the Loading Times where much longer, i think longer than the actuall Fighting Round .. , so i think its nice to have this Game on the Thor, but for real Gaming i would take the PSP oder the Gamecube Version

I'm playing StarFox 64. It's amazing on MiSTer, so zippy and responsive. At first I was disappointed that the new StarFox is a rehash but actually it looks really good so now I'm excited.

It's great to be following a current console again.

On Steam I sometimes see strange, but somewhat popular, games.
Like this one about having revenge on hamsters, because they killed your family:

or this one, about a kid showering with his dad:

Did yesterday and on sunday continue whit Fallout 4 on Switch², if you compare the port to the Port of Farming Sim 25 on the same System, its actually quite a good port, its works well, only you dont have this community modhub thing, so no cheat system for your Pipboy sadly.. , so i have to play it the real way,
im now level 11, im still plan to do an meely weapons run, but some times firearms are much more effective, maybe its more easy when you are using the powerarmor, but i dont know how to earn enough money to buy new fusion cores .. , i have now also the "Cannibal" Perk, its usefull as you can in fight eat your enemies as long they are death, but i have to chose an companion who is not discussed from this .. , im most time on the wastelands whit Dogmeat, ^^
As for the Quests, i did yesterday clean this fort for the Minuteman Questline, was maybe a abit too early, or i did not found the flamethrower and the rocketlauncher, also its not reccomend to do this whit level 11 and whitouth Powerarmor..
