I know I could get a class 6 but would the Pandora use the SD's write speed fast enough to make the cost worth it?

Thanks for any info!

It all comes down to what your main uses are.

Emulation - probably not so much. Emulators don't write to the card much. Read speed is really more important here.

Homebrew - probably not so much. Like emulation, not a bunch of writing going on here, but resource heavy homebrew might be doing a fair bit of reading.

Productivity - Might be worth it, especially if you save and load many documents frequently.

Connectivity - It might help, if you're caching pages to it, but not by much.

Media - Here's where a fast card matters. If you're changing out video often, a fast card will save you lots of time. An Season's worth of hour long tv episodes is a lot of data to transfer. If you're swapping out gigs of tv often, a fast card is nice.

I'd still go with a 8gb class 6 (133 to 150x) one. They are fairly inexpensive and got the best cost/performance ratio.

(By the way this sub forum is for the GP2X Wiz - not the Pandora.)

Sorry all,

While getting registered and replying to the registration emails, I got turned around and ended up posting in the wrong part of the forums.

I do very much apologize for wasting bandwidth and everyone's time in posting about another device in this area.

Mea culpa!

BTW, did buy a Wiz while waiting for the Pandora, all my friends were lining up to get it when the Pandora comes out. Too bad I am having such fun with it that I don't plan on getting rid of it! :)

SD's are cheap right now I just picked up a Patriot 16gb class 6 for $30 at Frys Electronics here in San Diego. It keeps a sustained write speed at 11-12mbs with peaks of 20+mb on small transfers
