What I Miss

From various parts of my life, and listed in no particular order...

What I miss:
  • Being excited about new games and technology, waiting for the latest copy of whatever magazine I got at the time to drool over pictures of new games and new consoles (32X, Jaguar) that I'd never be able to afford (lucky miss there I guess :) )
  • Knowing people that were 'into' playing the same sort of games as me, and swapping tips on how to 'get past' areas and find new secret areas
  • Swapping the game carts with people at school
  • Cover CDs from CD32 magazines
  • Daytona USA and NiGHTS
  • Thinking the Pandora was going to be cool
  • Thinking the Amiga had a chance of survival
  • Micro Machines 96 and Lightening Seeds, Jollification
What I don't miss:

  • Line numbers
  • Waiting 3 minutes for a tape game to load, often crashing half way through the process
  • 8-bit Porn
  • Pay-per-minute dial up connections and 33Kbs modems
  • Craig
  • Klick 'n' Play
  • Not having any money

What I miss:
- coders, reinventing an existing genre(like they did in Worms, Battle Isle, Lemmings, etc...).
What I don't miss:
- Programs vanishing from my disk, after a while(that's what happened to my Lionheart discs).
What I'll never tolerate:
- DRM-silliness, to patronize me.

Hey, btw: 8-bit porn was great. I spent several hours with c64's sex games.
