according to THIS gp32 retailer you can browse the internet on it?? is this true because i have not heard anything about this <_<

gamepark said that the GP32 could go onto the Net etc but so far I have seen no proof of it...

Was supposed to have some sort of interface with it to plug into mobiles originally, but only in korea. Think it evolved into the GPi (the clamshell gp32/mobile hybrid), but that never got out of the development/prototype stage.

well.. Gamepark has PPP driver & TCP/IP implementation already around. Not that they are really used but some parts are in SDK.. Maybe this is again some genious marketing trick :p

So they have the TCP\IP Connections,So therefore we can connect but not view the pages? Is it likely we will ever see the Internet on the gp32?

I'd say it's possible but not likely due to the need of extra hardware, and due to the fact that you'd need to have it hooked up to something to work, and personally I'd rather crash tackle whoever is on the computer and use that instead :p

Would probably be possible for someone to write generic serial-type drivers to connect mobiles to the gp32. with that you could do all sorts. You'd just need to make a gp32-phone lead - not too difficult if you have the pin-outs.

i hate it when people (and gamepark is the worst one) bullshit about the gp32 to sell it. it's worth buying for the things it really can do, without raising false expectations...

i've acutaly seen pictures of a GP32 *not sure if it the weird shaped metalic one*looks liek reg GP32, but side look different and it grey/matallic*

search google image search for GP32 and some of the pages that have GP32 pics has thoes pics

Axeman had a good idea there, But you wouldn't be be able to buy a ext connecter so it would mean permanatley soldering/holding it while getting cut off every time u see sme porn.

What exactly is it thats the big hurdle for getting net access on the GP32? Me could mod a cable for phones, it has TCP-IP connections, so is it the HTML implementation? ARE there actually any opensource browsers?

AFAIK, Opera isn't open-source. It would have to be an open-source one like Mozilla or something, or a very basic one custom-written for gp32.

I can use generic serial drivers to dial out through my Nokia communicator 9210i though (i.e. it just sends the correct commands to the phone to get it to dial. Only connects at 9.6kbps with generic drivers, but thats fast enough for internet play, or browsing text-based sites/wap etc...
