You Tube Through Vlc

SUCCESS!

I can download youtube videos with downloadhelper then play them in VLC or Mplayer.

It was a bit of a struggle but I got there in the end.

Thanks again for all the advice!

I would prefer snooky lumps but Betty will do lol

edit: err that was at Tripmonkey

@pootle well done :) the good thing about downloadhelper is it works on sites other than youtube.

well that's cool the only problem is you have to download the mp4 before you can with it and some youtube vids are 50mb + we should be able to stream them but we already know so far that isn't working out, I'm gonna get myself the firefox plugin for now me thinks :)
You can already watch the videos while downloading. problem is they get renamed after download is finished, but that might be optional, didn't check.

LOL

I just realized you guys were making reference to something, it completely went over my head...Wooooosh!

Do we have an HTML5 browser? But ideally not firefox
and MP4 codecs, which I'd think so

can sites like
http://neosmart.net/YouTube5/
do the trick?
Don't need to wait on downloading and opening other programs to play, just watch it without flash on that site

anyone tried those that on pandora?
