there are no icons
just black screen , mouse cursor
and the flash animation

have a look at
www.gp32linux.com :)
I downloaded al the files of http://gp32linux.gp32news.com/flash/
and replaced the start file.
And wrote everything including the .swf files to my SMC.
I put the .swf files in the GP:/GPMM/LINUX/X directory.
But there arent flash animations.

Just read through everything twice, especially seeing as your main language isn't english, and you're not quite a computer guru.

Yopy uses x windows and the mobile gnome environment (GTK based). I think that the zaurus binaries are incompatible... or not?
zaurus binaries are compatible
what you want to say i think
is :
- zaurus binaries are based on opie lib
- yopi binaries are base on gtk lib
so without the libs , it s not compatible
but if you copy the libs too
there are no problem

and dont forget the ipaq
2 differnts thinks
- ipaq opie
- ipaq gtk [ gpe]

you may want to have a look at
http://www.handhelds.org/geeklog/index.php
you will find links to donwload full ipaq linux distribution in .tar.gz
and then you can extract files and test on your gp

gp32,ipaq,zaurus and yopi
are based on arm cpu -> binary compatibilty

the only thing you have to change is for ipaq gtk [ gpe] , there are something like 4 libs to change, otherwise you get a "kernel too old " message

you just have to figure out , where to put the files, and what parameters the programs neeeds
if people are interested i can make a pack
for ipaq gtk , so you can try gtk apps
but right now , there is a strange problem and the mouse is not recognized :(
cyberic is trying to find why

latest version [ and last ...for a long time ]
-------------------------------------------------------------
this version use the xfree from ipaq
i included in the pack , the modified libs so you can run ipaq gtk applications [ gpe ]

whats new
- better colors
- rescaling works
- a little faster

if it doesnt seem to load after a few secs and you stay with the X cursor
try to move the cursor with the paddle [even if the cursor barely moves ]

it will be there in 15 minutes
http://gp32linux.gp32news.com/flash2/

warning : if you have an older release remove all the libX11.* files from the x directory , otherwise it wont work
=================================
if you like this release you can send me a nice postcard if you want ;)
send me a pm , i wil give u my contact information
[ you can even send me one of those flash post cards , i will watch it
on my gp32 , lol :D ]

================
for those having problems i hope there will be a tutorial soon on http://www.gp32linux.com/

well, tried qutie a few <500k ones and neither worked...no idea why, as some of the included ones SEEM more complex than the ones i've tried.

edit: my lame mistake as usual :D now watching happy tree friends eps on my gp32.

no, sound is disabled, and it's pretty slow right now, but definately looking good. i think they haven't even started optimizing yet, so this'll be pretty nice once it's polished

Just caught upon this project. Nice one guys. I'll have to try this out very soon. For now here's something for those of you using the browsers.

PDA friendly websites

Most of these are text versions of some nice news and info sites. I access some of them on my Sony Clie from time to time.

The fpk trunkates the names (the old 8.3 name issue). This cuts off libx11.___
and libXext.___ for a total of 6 misnamed files.

When I launch it, it loads linux then dies on
VFS: Can't find a valid FAT filesystem on dev 1f:00.
mount: <ounting /dev/mtdblock0 on /mnt failed: Invaled arguement
/etc/init.d/rcS: /mnt/gpmm/linux/start: No such file or directory

the busybox shell message....

then
sh: can't access tty; job control turned off.

I will try the original (non-fpk) later

Great project, hopefully Strongbad compatible someday.

Thanks.

Hello :)
I admit I'm lost , I've searched & read this long long post many times but I can't figure out how to answer my own questions :(
Few release ago the GP32Linux was able to launch many little applications & was even compatible with Zaurus binaries with a little trick that I haven't really understand....
but I've recently download the latest version of GP32 Linux & it appears that it's only for playing SWF files, which is great, but not what I would love :(
so can somebody help me to transform my small GP32 into a great-full-of-little-apps Linux handled machine ? ;p
in other words, where to find the release which was compatible with Zaurus bin & runs small apps like calculator/text editor/pdf viewer maybe? etc... as well as html files ;p & then can somebody please help me (and many others I think) to set it up :) or just point me the main important parts to success in this now (I surely miss it totaly or missunderstood) ;)

thanks in any cases :)
