Not only do I still use my GP2X, but I'm working on some new games for it! I'm curious how large the community still is around these cool cats.

I also wonder if there is any interest in a GamePark coding compo this year, or did your toolchains rot? :D

My F200 and Caanoo are collecting dust lately (also for GCW-Zero), and like Linux-Swat said, i use my Pandora more frequently....but i still want to try to port something to those lovely old handhelds if i find motivation and free time.

I love the idea of a new competition.

I regularly use the Wiz and throughout this autumn, the GP32, quite extemsively (every other day or so). Next comes the GP2XF100. Caanoo is last, mainly because I have no replacement battery and because I am no more as deep into ScummVM as I used to be :D

Hi all :)

I chose the "No, I sold it off" and "No, it broke" answers, even though I didn't sell my GPH handhelds but actually gave them away. No idea what has become of my good ol' GP2X F100, but I know the F200 I gave my girlfriend sadly no longer works... :(

I'd still be interested in playing new GP2X games though, as long as they work on the Pandora through GINGE.

@alxm : how are Rushed Dinosaur Dare and Motel 37 going ? :p

Cheers, Magic Sam

Poorly :p

I'll get to them eventually, but for now I'm working on a mindless arcade game that I'm building in parallel with my game engine. Runs on pretty much everything:

@alxm : I remember playing a short demo of that game you are currently working on a long time ago, back in the GP32X days :)

EDIT: @alxm : Is it based on Zam ?

It is, I can't believe you remember that! I'm re-reading your feedback from that thread now :)

I was way in over my head back then, but now I'm in a position to make my plans a reality. All the code has been recently rewritten, so the only thing that is the same are some of the graphics.

I recently adquired a GP32, so I want to know more about it, but I don't have a card reader yet, so I can't play it so much ^^U
Also, I'm still porting some games to Wiz and Caanoo. I have to upload "Screen Break Time" for Wiz again because it's missing on gp32spain, and FrikiMusic for GP2X (both, F100 and F200).

Now I'm in a dilemma with Echo, and I will open a poll to know what to do next. Also I have a minigame, Atari 2600 style, but I don't know if it deserves a port or not.

I have a GP2X Vocamaster in a drawer. Using the PS vita mostly since it has been hacked.

Finally got a bare metal version (ie no Linux - loads straight from bootloader ) of DrSMS running a few days ago on my F100 - no sound yet as I need to create the driver ( aka ripping off the linux kernel code ) but SD card access is working thanks to the block driver from sdk2x and the fat driver from the Gristle lib. My hope is to create an environment like the GP32, ie switch on and play - no waiting around for Linux to boot up...but I'll probably get bored before then.

Nice, I remember talk of a Hardcore Homebrew mode back in the day... What kind of speedup are you seeing in DrSMS without Linux?

Doesn't seem much faster (which is what many of the experts back in the day predicted ) - 50fps at 40Mhz, solid 60fps at 66Mhz. I'm pretty sure the stats from the linux version were around the same but I've not checked - I may do that tonight.

I still have my GP32 and sometimes i use it, mostly because the emulator was abandoned, just to remember good old times at GP32Spain and GP32x forums.

You could still connect via USB with gplink.
I need to test it myself, just to see if it still works.

@alxm great to see that you are still around! I still play lots of sqdef all the time. One of my absolute favorites! :)

EDIT: Oh and I voted Yes for both gp32 and gp2x. Of course there are periods where they collect a bit of dust, simply because I can't play all my handhelds and consoles at once ^^. But they are still in active duty rotation. GP32 is lovely for sms and gb emulation. GP2x homebrew games are still fun, but I will use the console less now that there are all these great gp2x gamepacks for pandora.

Hey nopasaran, glad to see you're around too :) Lots of old faces still seem to be, man how time flies. Thanks for remembering Sqdef, I want to bring the source code back from the dead in time for a 10-year anniversary Pandora port this summer :D

I picked up a GP2X F200 from eBay last year and put in my old SD card. There were some seriously cool games made for it, I spent a few hours playing Brass Munkey and Ruckage's stuff. Shame that GamePark went out of business, they really had something special going. Everything has its time I suppose :)

Someone could point me where to download or share here the Allegro 4 libs compiled for Caanoo ? I have searched a bit but didn't find any relevant info.

Thanks
