Alright I am going to start learning to code and once I do I want to be able to experiment with multiple platforms. I already have a GP32 non flu, but what would be another good thing to try to develop for? I was thinking XBOX or Zodiac. Do you guys think I should buy a blu, get a mod chip for my xbox or buy a Zodiac. Also how is homebrew going for the Z?

Chip the box! Even if you never code for it, it's an excellent investment. I don't have an xbox (supposed to be saving money :(), but if I did, then I have chipped it. Looks lurverly.

I would buy a BLU and maybe get an Xbox chip as well. I would not get a Zodiac though. It isn't really that much faster for emus and homebrew is kind of a pain with the whole DRM signing thing (if you use the Zodiacs features), plus Palm OS must be delt with also which can be a headache for n00bz.

Xbox is great for gaming, I like mine alot, but I think handhelds are "cooler" for emulation. There is just something about having all of those old systems emulated in the palm of your hand.

Xbox, is much better in my opinion then Zodiac. If you wanna program for PDAs get a PocketPc.

Start on the GP32 and make your program as modular and well-documented as possible (meaning make it as easy to port as possible). Not only will porters love you, but it will be extremely easy to port your own work from one platform to the next. Make a masterpiece on one platform and then port it around.

Thanks for the quick replies and I think I will stick with the gp and get a blu, and also get my xbox chipped. I know if I start my work will be open source that way it can be passed a long to other systems and stuff that way it stays alive through the years. Anyway I hope to get started soon, and gp32 seems to be the most dev friendly community. The only thing I am worried about is after I get started with it the community could get outdated and my time would be wasted. However, if I keep it well documented as GeneralNMX mentioned it shouldn't be much of a pain.

Edit: The only thing that lures me to the Zodiac is that it is a gamers pda, meaning non aggervating controls. Also the fact that Tapwave seems to be supporting developers and providing help and apps for them.

I think I will just keep my normal gp and get a Zodiac 2. I have light for the normal gp so it isn't a problem. GeneralNMX sold it to me with a high tech flood light with rubber band technology ;) and it works fine. When I get off my lazy ass I am going to put some velcro on it.

Also what is a reliable site that I can buy an x-box mod chip from? I'm in the US
