What are you playing this weekend/these days?

I have been playing Samus Returns (I got the Samus/squishy metroid set, too) and Bravely Second on my Samus New 3DS. Also gathering badges on the claw game with free plays.

A couple gripes: I kinda understand charging for plays on the claw game, and to get themes. I think they should tell you what theme you will get before you pay, though. Although you can play the game without it, there shouldn't be a part of a game, as in Bravely Second, that requires a purchase. I hope there are no Nintendo games that require connecting to a server and paying to complete the game. My main reason for preferring Nintendo cartridge/card games is so that I can play them much later, long after official support has ended, on the original hardware. It is bad enough that things like Mario Kart online play will be shut down. Probably true of SSB as well. You may remember that this is why I didn't allow myself to get involved in Mario Maker, as I might want to try levels made by other people in 15 years. (The 3DS version, which is rather handicapped compared to the WiiU version, being on a game card is only better than the optical disc option if I will be close enough to meet up in person to trade levels. I don't think we will have Star Trek transporters in my lifetime, so not likely to be a solution for me.) Hopefully fans and Nintendo together, or fans alone since Nintendo only cares how much money they can get from fans, will find a way around recent limitations in these games. I won't be happy if the solution is "buy the newest game". It seems they are intentionally trying to kill off retro gaming unless they have a stranglehold on it. Pretty sad since they are one of the companies most associated with that, and they have several franchises that are a part of it...maybe this is why I am not a businessperson.

Lately:
Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Wii-U
Warcraft II slowely running through the Orc Campaign on my Amiga via ShapeShifter Emu running MacOS 7.5
Diablo II - Pandora

If you cfw your 3ds, there could be a Mario Maker solution sometime in the future - no guarantee, but it is being worked on.

Yeah, I just did mine within the last few weeks, and couldn't be more pleased with the outcome.

I'm playing Metroid currently myself, and I'm enjoying it but the controls are just a pain. I don't know if I could set buttons how I want if it would improve, but damn, it's physical juggling at it's best. LOL I had been playing BotW for many months, as I left my thoughts in the Zelda thread, but I took a break from that. The open world is cool I guess but in most open world games, if you don't want to do a bunch of side quest, you can continue on the set story path. This game doesn't really have a set path, and I just wonder around most of the time without much to do but fight the same 3-4 monsters roaming the countryside.

Wind Waker was always my least favorite Zelda title, but BotW may over take it. Where WW looked nice, it was padded with boat travel, which became really boring over time, with not much to do. That being said BotW is the complete other end of the spectrum, as there is to much to do, and no clear way to do them. I guess some like the freedom of a game like this, but when i put it on, and see how little I've done, with so much more to do, I just don't really care to continue. Since I haven't finished it yet, I can't give a full assessment, but the way it's going, I may never reach the end. How this game got perfects from so many, I clearly don't "get it".

I don't know if the removal of the Wii U tablet features may have helped, as the game started development with that in mind, only to have it removed when a dual release was planned. So maybe in it's original form, I may have liked it more, but I guess I'll never know, as that version is long gone. I plan to buy my son a NS hopefully before Mario arrives, or shortly thereafter, and I hope that isn't a let down as well. As I thought both Galaxy games are two of the finest efforts "N" has ever made.

As a fan of the Gothic series since the days of yore I treated myself to a copy of Elex.
Yay for a physical release in a nice 6 DVD box.
Boo² for tying it to Steam.

Done with Persona 5 for now, will come back eventually for NG+.

Currently bitten by the Wasteland 2 bug in anticipation for Wasteland 3. Also in the queue is Hyper Light Drifter, Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light (the latter 2 costing $7 total during the Deep Silver Publisher sale).

I love tactical RPGs, and I probably should play the classics eventually. While RNGsus has a little too much presence in Wasteland 2, it doesn't make the game unenjoyable.

True in the sense that you won't play on Nintendo's servers forever. However, you can still play online through Dolphin via Netplay.

Bought Solar Settlers, Minos Strategos, and SkyBoats on Steam, a.k.a the rest of the BrainGoodGames bundle. Man, this developer only knows how to make one type of game, but it's a damn good one.

Edna and Harvey : The Breakout on GPD WIN
Pretty funny Point and Click Adventure a bit like Monkey Island, but from a German Developer "Deadalic"
and in a lunatic asylum, so every charakter got one or twoo lose screews..
Played verry well on the GPD, the game crashed one time (which costs me about 1 hour playtime)..
Finished the Game yesterday..

Grim dawn. Addicted way more than I was diablo 3 considering it didn't keep my interest long. Much more fun to me.

For quite a while now:

Lots of Mario Oddyssee on Switch this Weekend, im now at Water Kingdown, but ditnt played much in this Kingdown..
on the other Kingdowns, i gather lots of Powermoons and Coins,
Its a pretty cool Mario Game, fun to explore the Kingdowns, but somethimes a bit divicult to controll whit the Joycons..

Some Aktions like the highest Jump of Frogmario, needs the Motion Controll, so if you wants to get every powermoon, you cant play in Handheldmodus or whit the Pro Controller which is a bit a shame.. as its gos against the meaning of the switch "Play where you want, when you want, and how you want"..

But as the next 2 Days whe have 2 Free Days in Germany, (one because Luther and one because "Allerheiligen", which is the day thats follows on the Halloween Evening) i think i will play it the next 2 days :)

Dying Light, damn, this is awesome, I wasn't expecting an experience like that... there are really few games around that makes me feel like I'm living inside of them, but this is absolutely one of them.

Parkour in a open world + Zombie smashing is a super fun recipe, controls works incredibly great considering the complexity of the maps, and the developers did a great job on the atmosphere too
