Tbh every year that the switch has been out it's been kicking ass and taking the names of the other consoles. I've not had a Nintendo handheld since the first DSLite (not the NDS, I was sceptical of it's use - boy, that soon changed) and my last Nintendo console was a GC. Bought my eldest a switch for xmas a while back with a couple of games - and tbh within an hour I was on Amazon ordering another one for myself. This thing is just sublime.

Just waiting on AC for switch now and my life will be complete.

I still would love to have a pro verion mith a stronger SOC to make those PC ports like Wither be more enjoyable.
It works but compared to PC it looks really crap.

Square Enix just announced that the GBC version of Dragon Quest Monsters 1 is coming to Switch as Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland Retro.

Yep, that's right, they couldn't bring it to the 3DS Virtual Console, but they can bring it to a system with no Virtual Console. *rage* And it's only for Japan. *more rage*
CFW your 3DS. Problem solved.

Just watched a review of the switch lite on youtube which said the dpad is a bit rubbish finding diagonals- bit of a shame if true.

The Switch Lite in Blue looks quite awesome, its also feels good, but i ditnt had much time to play as it was late yesterday evening, and i had to download lots of my Games again from the E-Shop, because you cant just put your Micro SD Card from your old Switch to the new..

Pics and more advanced review will follow

Do you have older Nintendo hardware?
I.e. 3DS, or Game Boy handhelds?

If so please can you give us a review of the dpad on the Switch Lite, compared to the other consoles... I am very interested....

I could use my super awesome Gameboy Advance whit the AGS 101 Display Mod and my Gameboy Collor and Switch Lite to compare the DPAD,
I think Super Mario Bros should be the right game for this, i have the DX for the Collor, the GBA Version of the NES Game and the Nintendo Online NES Version on the Switch..
But it needs some time.. ^^

Sadly, this does in fact seem to be the case, as I've seen a tear down that shows the issue, and it's real based on the amount of fighting game complaints. LOL

The contact points under the membrane seem to be spaced further away from each other as a point of design, so it's not great for fighting, but perfect for platforming and 4 directional games like Tetris 99. While I love my fighting games, it's not something I ever do seriously on a handheld, as I'm a 6 button snob. I made it work back on the SNES, but have long since gave up after that, as SF4 on the 3DS was AMAZING, but playing in that form just never clicked for me.

So if givien the option, the way the D-Pad is currently, it would be my preferred option between the two. Of course having something that functioned under all situations would have been ideal, but with the "N" of today, you have to take what you can get, when you can get it. Then, if I actually ever decide to play more competitively, I can always sync something to the Lite and prop it up and play that way. I't's not ideal, but there are many proper d-pad alternatives out there, that can be used with either NS, no problems.

Just try’d the DPAD in comparison whit the DPAD from my GBA, and it’s works pretty good,
I can’t find the words for this but i think I’m happy whit the dpad..

Pix will follow..

My standard test of d-pads is the dragon punch (shoryuken) from Ryu in SF3 Alpha Upper on the GameBoy Advance. Using that I've been able to determine that the d-pad of the original phat DS is best, followed by the Pandora's d-pad, followed by my DS lite. I don't have a GBASP only an original GBA, which uses a very similar d-pad to the one in the gamecube controller. It's not a particularly good d-pad for pulling off a shoryuken.

Ha, I always measure it by the reliability of the shoryuken as well. Highest position on the ranking still has the d-pad of the Saitek p2600 and the other gamepads of that series even after regular use.

Its cool to have a DPAD on the Switch Lite, and its seems to work good, maybe not that the Best DPAD on a Nintendo Handheld, buts its better than the 4 Buttons on the Joycon if you need a DPAD..

Im quite happy whit my Switch Lite, ditnt had the Time to do more Testing than the first 2 Dungeons in Links Awakening, but its seems like its quite confortable to hold, and as its lighter than the normal Switch, i think its better for longer Handheld Playtimes..

I have to check how long i can play whit my 6000 mah Pocket Powerbank, or whitout.., but i think for my Uses, its enought

Why do whe have a Pandora /Pyra ??? these Comercial Handhelds are for Comercial Games etc,
Who would make a new Handheld if everyone just hack it and ripp and copy the Games??

My normal Handhelds are all unhacked, PSP 1000 PSVITA (OLED), GB GBC GBA, DS 3DS, ..
Ok i have an Everdrive GB/GBC and a Everdrive GBA, and my GBA got a Display Mod, but other than this, all of my Handhelds are Original..

Shure its interesting whats runs on the Hardware, but im not a fan of this..
