Woohoo

make 99,9% of new smc's out of it.
only the old 5v smc's should make problems, so make sure you geta 3v one (like i say nearly all currently selld smc's are 3v/3.3v)

There's rumoured to be a 256mb one floating around, but it requires a higher voltage anyway if it even exists. It is definitely possible, though, to create an "SMC" higher than 128mb using an xD card and SMC adapter. Rest assured, it won't work, though (something to do with how SMCs are individually indexed, I think, depending on how big they are - and there isn't an index in the bios for > 128 mb)...

would it work for cards that are 128mb or lower?

Also, I was talking about this in a chatroom, and a guy suggested doing some sort of bankswitching. Is that feasible?

miss read. making a bank switch thing would be feasible, but not practicable -- fiddle, expensive and time consuming to make, why bother, the cards are small enough and easy to switch.
