I have just received my Pyrae (black and copper). The black one works as designed, but on the copper one, I can not open the battery compartment lid. Actually, I am not sure how to open it, as it looks differently on the copper Pyra, than on the black one. It also seems that the coating is somehow molten together on some parts of the lid. Attached pictures should be self-explanatory.

I know it is a stupid question, but does anyone have a guidance? I do not want to break the lid by application of too much force...

How much wiggling is acceptable? I'm thinking about damaging the unit to open the lid as it only can shift a little more than 1 mm (and back). To move it a little to the "open", I used a towel and a hammer. But then the problem starts:
The side that is protruding is flimsy, so pulling without damaging the unit is hard. Pushing it, however, makes it bend inwards (as there is no battery yet). I've not tried cold yet (now a comfortable 25 degrees Celcius).
The Stylus is also stuck and requires more force than I'm comfortable with, but it goes out.

Any ideas? WD40? Just use a flat screwdriver?

Edit: Tried unscrewing the underside, but that did not do anything to the base of the battery lid. And before you ask: Yes, I tried to slide it to the left side (towards where the stylus is), which should be the correct side as it does not go the other side.
