Battery Type/life

Okay does this sound right???

I have rechargeable 2300mah batteries, and only get maybe 3-5 hours, playing with the light on, almost all aps running at either 133 or 156mhz (mostly dr MD). Seems from you guys I should be getting more life than this?

Yeah, I have Uniross 2300mah and I'm estimating I get about 5 hours out of it. However, I don't know if I'm recharging them fully. The packet says I should charge them for 16 hours with a 230mA current. I use a charger that says:

Output: 1-4x1,5V---/ 50 / 150mA
Output: 1-2x9V---/ 15mA

What on Earth does this mean? I charge 2 batteries for 20 hours. How long should I really be charging them for and is there a risk of overcharging?

4x Uniross 2300Mah. Strikalite owns.

Bah.. they have 2500Mah ones now, i only just got these.. Lol

For anyone who is wonderin, u can get a Fast charger that charges em in like 15 mins but i seen em in maplin and they cost like 40 quid!.

My dad also has a charger that charges normal unrecharagble batteries, god knows where he got that ;)

I've noticed, that the ones I have, warm up sligthly when charged, then cool down when done. Also, the recharger has lights, which illuminate when charging, and blink of when done. I've had then plugged to the wall for well over a day after being fully charged, and nothing bad has happened, they're cool to touch. I quess they have a switch...

I have 2000mah batteries (NiMh), I use a ansmann powerline 5 recharger @ 900mah, thats a bit over 2 hours recharging. I can play with my flu for a very long time with those batteries.
The 15 min rechargebles what are those NiMh, NiCd, lithium?

@ billy lee: 2300/150 = 15.3 hours of charging

Hmmm odd. I've got some Uniross 2100 the other day after upgrading from 800mH. I charged the new 2100 for 7hours as it says on the pack. I played the SNES emulator running at 166MHz with sound and the light on and I swear they only lasted about 70mins. I know this as I wanted to see how much difference the new batteries would make. The second batch lasted slightly longer. Did I get a duf battery batch or is something in the GP sucking juice?

Also, is there an app that you can use to tell you how much battery life is left in the GP? Would be useful to have so you don't have to restart games again cause you didn't save before it died.

6 2000 m/ah + Charager from jessops for £9.99, then 4 2300 m/ah uniross also for a tenner.
Not sure how long they last but I have enough

I got a middle of the road quickcharger, charges 2 or 4 2300mah batteries in about 90 mins... more than fast enough for me, as long as I can have one set fully charged before I can run the other set out.

The charger and batteries (4) cost me $25

That can't be right because it says on the battery packet to charge for 16 hours with a 230mA charger. Therefore you must have to charge it for longer than 16 hours with only a 150mA charger. Also, is the 150mA referring to only a single battery or 4 batteries charging at once?

Im confused.

On my GBA, it says not to use rechargable batteries, cos it delivers a lower voltage and can damage it.

Why is this not the case for gp32?

Actually the GBA manual says that its because they can leak acid and corrode.
But so can regualar batteries  I'm guessing they get money from Duracell

I use 2800ni-mh rechargables, but for long journeys I built a DDbattery adaptor and they last about forever (I built it 7 months ago and it still hasn't run out (!))

You built who with the what now?

Anyway, with BLUs (or BLU+s) what happens when the batteries get low? Does the led dim, dos the back light fade/cutout? Basically, is there any warning or does it just die like a gamegear and unlike a gameboy?

I'm using rechargable alkalines called Pure Energy.

According to their website, it's environmentally the most friendly, and has approx 2100 mAh life... *Nod* That's at a typical voltage drain, but my BLU+ running Little John with no frame skip and sound for like 3 hours before the screen starts blanking a bit.

Heres a play by play of the battery dying:

The program freezes

The screen gets brighter

white lines start going vertically across the screen

The screen fades to white with a slightly darker rectangle in the middle

A weird sound comes out

The sound gets weirder for a while and...

Your batterys die completely.

But...You put in new batterys and everythings ok.

How long does that take? Minutes, seconds, 22 days?

Is there enough time to make a savestate or not?
