I know you are all having too much fun playing with MAME right now, but for idiots like me that don't have a clue what to do, would it be possible for anyone to pen an idiots guide? I downloaded the file from Franxeses site, and have a .rar file. That's all, with no read me file. When I stuck it on the smc card and stuck the card into the gp32, I couldn't see anything. I also have the clrmame file on the smc (all in gpmm file. After that......????

I wanna play MAME! About to throw my prams outta the toys again. Or something.

Sorry to ask, but I'm pretty sure there's no faqs already for this................

:D :D :D

Hi.

You need to extract the RAR file on your PC. you will find the fxe files and the readme file inside ;-)

hope this is helpful.

At least there is somewhere for us to ask... I have put my roms in the right place (GPMM/Mame034), but am struggling to get my GP32 to recognise that I have Mame on it... what should I have as well in my GPMM?? Please help...thanks in advance

All .fxe files should always go in the GPMM directory

In the read me it tells you to put roms in the MAME034 folder i think it is

Surely people can at least get to that level ?

I cant believe people in this day and age arent sure what to do when they get a .rar file or maybe even a .zip one !

Well, you should believe it! Nobody knows anything until they learn it (!), and not everybody has experience ion all areas(!!!).

I really appreciate the help I have been given on a wide range of forums, and have been happy to give help back.

Thanks for the help :D

Sorry didnt mean to be rude, but seriously not knowing what the .rar file was ? ;-)

Anyway the long MAME thread elsewhere on this site should give the newbies a lot of what to do.

The readme.txt is also very good so have a read of that first.

aarrrr... double dragon is not working!!!

Double Dragon bootleg works fine, although very slowly, turn the sound off, frameskip 2, and oc to 166 if u can and you'll get a decent game of it though. I can't wait to see if franxis integrates reesy's Z80 or cyclone into this, woo hoo!

OK, is there a GPMAME compatibility list anywhere?

I've just got 4DVDs worth of MAME ROMS and a nice tool/frontend (MAME32) which seems to list the whole lot of them!!! Boy there's a lot...

[Erm, of course, in order to get the DVDs I had to buy a share of a collection of all of the Cabinets concerned...]

I know forums have their fair share of idiots but really, you don't have to be insulting. ;)
