What The Hell Is Wrong With The Forum?

It happens sometimes (this is by far not the first time).
Usually, a day later everything works fine again for the next half a year :)

Ya, it was slow as hell to the point of not loading fully about 15 min ago. If the admin/mods with admin access (Since this is IPB) could goto either the SQL Toolbox or the serverside PHPMyAdmin and optimize all the tables (click them all, and hit optimize). That would speed it up a hell of a lot. I do it weekly on my site and it works great.

This won't work here, as it's not the database that's so slow but the ISP connection of the server ;)

Just want to say it's also sometimes veeeeeeery slow for me too. During the day it takes a minute just to load a forum! :(

Always when I suspected Google to be slow it turned out to be something with my own connection, except for some Google server errors :)

Ontopic, it's pretty slow here too, up to the point where it just stops loading after the main bar sometimes. Is this the ISP being slow or is the new visitors invasion still going strong?

EDIT: Not to mention that it takes 10 minutes to post a reply, then gives me a 404 and when I push back and post it again I get a double post :).

Most of the pages load instantly but just now I had to wait about 15 seconds, and sometimes the forums just plain don't load at all and I have to leave and come back later. This has happened before and as ED says I think it's an ISP issue :) Just be patient, if it happens for any extended length of time then I'm sure Hando will look into it.

The problem is evenings GMT because then both EU users and US users are logged on at the same time. The server and connection is swarmed with all the calls and downloads. If everybody used the Lo-Fi version then we probably wouldn't have a problem but then the Lo-Fi version doesn't keep track of new posts so it's kinda useless.
