New Emulator Features....

I didn't mean to insult OMars, and I really don't think I did.

But look what he wrote:

"You guys your emulators are cool and all, but now that the GP2X is coming out, I don't want to feel like I'm playing some , no offense but it is getting old..."

Is it just me, or is that not a bit insulting to the amazing work GP32 devs have done before? He could've just asked about new types of features for emus without saying it that way.

He just really reminds of some stuff I saw in the PSP scene sometimes. I don't want to see the GP2X scene deteriorate to that level. I don't have anything personally against OMars, I even recall DEFENDING him when he made a speculation topic about the GP2X. So anyone who thinks I was too harsh, I would ask you to look at all the facts first.

First of all, emu's should first be able to run as close to the original as possible THEN have extra features as OPTIONS not the other way around, second... what exactly was the point of all the fighting on this thread? did anybody's opinions change? no... did it help anything? no... Understand that sitting here and bitching about stuff for a handheld that isn't even released yet isn't going to be very helpful, if at all. All I have to say is if you don't like someone else's work on coding something free for you then either recode it yourself and put in all your little options or ask nicely don't demand and seeing as this is a GP32 forum bagging the system may not keep you in the good with the locals so watch to make sure your ass don't get burned!

Take rlyeh's emu's for example, the animated savestates are very rare in most emu's but his has them which is a very neat feature!

Your a tit, get over yourself. You wrote some FAQ's that nobody reads and you think you got a right to be a wanker to anyone you dont like . All you seem to do is put anyone without asmuch expericance as you down.
A tit? What the fuck? Are you 7 years old? Well you know what, you're a stupid fucking n00b and Prophet has a point. You should lurk more, or just stop coming here all together.

Getting involved in another fight thats nothing to do with you. LOL.
Which is what you just did, dumbass. Don't pick fights with other people for no reason (especially not just because you have a personal agenda) -- I was defending a person because it's the right thing to do and I'm tired of seeing n00bs come along and disrespecting elder members I know you're going to say "no one asked you to" because you're so cool like that, so there's your reason.

You're very right, but sometimes things just need to be said to make things proper. I do apologize to you personally though, if you're offended.

Prophet you said nothing wrong, neither did OMars, its a staight forward missunderstanding.

I love this post I agree with everything and disagree with everything.

So I agree with you but...

On "close to the original" I want playable, and I want features, but I've always prefered Raine over Mame, mame is a wonderful project that aims for acuraccy, where raine aims for playability and speed hacks, features etc.

Options are important to me, and I think to everyone. An exiting time to own a GP32 was the almost daily upates of casterway(atari st emu)). It did get improved compatibility etc. When I see the posts on snes;gba;amiga;neo-geo, really I just don't care, becuase I never belived I would, play and love atari st emulation, because I want emulation like casterway, because that brought me joy I would never expect.

I don't think its fair to say if you don't like it code it yourself, most people do not have the time or the interest. There is nothing wrong with opinion and most people are thick skinned enough to see posts for what they are. If a footballer is playing badly, and someone says so, nobody goes to anyone who says so, get on the pitch and play yourself.

but yes its all right.

i can feel a group hug Timeout coming on, B)

and i do forgive you Prophet after you gave me a warning on zodiacgamer once for telling people NOT to send me a mame rom :p (can i have my warning taken off please)

WTF are you talking about, "I want this, go make it"?

Can't you F***ing read, I said it's a suggestion.

As a matter of fact all my other topics were suggestions, so get off your periods and stop dissing me, I didn't do anything to you guys!

And finally just stick to the topic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK done. But I don't recall that incident... Sure it was me?

OMars, it's not the idea of making suggestions that was offensive. It was how you said Gp32 emus were getting old and you don't want to feel like you're using one. Stuff like that doesn't seem very nice.

Maybe you didn't intend to sound offensive when you wrote it, but it did sound that way to me when I read it.

Omars, while these features are nice, most developers primary concern is actually having the games run at full speed with sound. So, maybe we should ask some developers if they could add some extra features (like gameshark) to the emulators that already run perfect. If the emulator doesn't run full speed, i would much rather have it run faster than be able to cheat.

I didn't I replied to your post, This topic clearly a misunderstanding, OMars latest responce I can do nothing but sympathise with he clearly feels Ostracised, Prophet said nothing wrong in his origninal post in his new one, Its the unwarrented attacks like yours that I have objected to here. I object to your post becuase its name calling again. Neither adding or taking away from the discussion. I'm tired of seeing the words noobs(especially with 0 lol). Especially when most of the time. I am the most long standing member in most topics. Wheres my respect that I *don't* deserve from you.

BTW Note: because I'm not 7 I can write a post like this without the using words like asshole, dumbass or fucking n00b

I see, I think I understand. I think people are talking at cross purposes, and I can see why I'm agreeing more with OMars than others(regardless of nastiness). OMars is not thinking of playing the games, but more the experience of emulation on the GP32(I know its a 2X thread). The experiance of the new version of DRMD not playing sonic. I hope I said that right.

People forget that the GP32(and hopefully the GP2X), was blessed with both quality and quantity when it came to emulation, and for well for free. Its really a testiment to the people who have put the time and effort in that people both want and expect more(lol although I bet it doesn't feel like that).

But you must admit that some of his posts come off a bit disrespectful to people that put their time and effort into coding; that being said, it still wasn't OMars that I had an actual problem with in this thread, and furthermore he occasionally comes up with good suggestions.

It's not unwarranted though -- it may toe the line of being too obscene, but it still brings across the point I was trying to make. People who have done nothing noteworthy should respect others who make contributions. It's what I do, and what I expect to be done by everyone else to maintain a proper decorum on this board.

Well of course you can't talk like that now, since you would just find yourself needlessly replacing your posts with a smiley face a few minutes later. You couldn't stand being wrong and called out for it before; you decided to be a coward and not apologize like you should have, but simply remove any traces of your unwarranted attacks.

That's why you don't deserve my respect, elder or not.

You've missed the point, my posts as opposed to Omars, often are disrepectful. This discussion is a good example, of how discussion works and doesn't work. I say stupid things, and hopefully someone more knowledgeable(or even a different viewpoint), will correct me. I hope at the end of the discussion to be more knowledgeable and able to make a more informed opinion.

In short coz I'm lazy and tired.

1) no he didn't nowhere, did he say all DEV's are a bunch of (insert insult) amd I suspect by his post that was the farthest thing from his mind, he said lets freshen some emulators by adding a little fancy.

2) Its unwarrented always. It is obscene. Its not proper decorum.

3) I belive you are happy :) to see that I am both active in that thread, and its me that expecting an apology.

Omars, you are always "suggesting" things to devs, in fact, is the only thing that you do.
I've seen almost all of the threads that you have started, and you are always doing "suggestions", telling devs what you want from his work.
And you know what? is THEIR work, done in THEIR free time, so... be grateful with all you can get, beacuse no one is going to pay atention to your requests.
If you aren't happy with that, you can get a psp and do the same as those kiddies do at psp forums, and if the dev of "youremulatorofchoice" doesn't do what you want, you can insult him, flame him or whatever.
But i advise you, in this community, in the future, please, be more respectful to the people that made the software that you are using.

And another thing, don't know who said it, donating doesn't give you the right to request NOTHING AT ALL, i know some people that say "hey, i will pay 10€ to insertrandomdevrhere and ask him in exchange animated megapirulation of the oxtia in his next version, if i pay for the software, is my right to get something in exchange" NO, WRONG!! IIE, NIET, NEIN, NÃO, NON, 아니다.
You got that already, that emulator, that program, you got that, the work, the hard work to get that damn thing working, you aren't paying for the software, you are motivating that person to go ahead, but you can't put a gun in his head and say "do it now"

Its so easy to tell others what to do.

I read the initial post twice just now. I just don't get these responces. I'm clearly really stupid. It should have been a light fun topic.

I've been following it for a while and all I can say is it's turned into an agressive form of an intervention. Omars has a slightly harsh way of suggesting things, I don't think it's meant to be as disrepectful as it might sound but the fact that he makes so many suggestions and seems to frame it as more than just a suggestion.

Omars, I understand that there's a lot you want to see but forgive me for being blunt when I say they ain't going to happen. The only time a dev takes a request or suggestion is when they ask or if they're feeling especially generous assuming it's in the realm of possibility. This isn't meant as an attack and I did even post earlier complimenting one idea with the preface that it would only happen after the emulator were working well, but the manner in which you bring up these suggestions paints you in a bad light because it seems to be most of what you do here on the forum.

It's just an observation.

The first time I read this thread it honestly did come across that Omars was demanding things, it maybe because he had a hard time expressing what he means in a post but it also means that anyone who took it the wrong way is justified in their reaction.
