Gp2psx V0.10

The red/blue color issue is due to how I handle converting BGR to RGB. It will be fixed.

The reason a faster sd card is better is because the emu streams a ISO since it can't load a 600mb ISO into memory. I use a buffering system to help with this. Also keep in mind the X speed factor is different for SD cards and CDROM drives.

sure but a 2x CDROM speed gives less than 300Kbps (peak value) and a SDcard is about 2Mbps (or 20 for fancy expensive ones:p ) , so speed shouldn't be an issue even with cheap cards as far as i know , and the psx is also streaming from the media, so it has to better in any way you look at it! :D

Btw, this emu is based on Linux using a single cpu. I tried using both cpu's but it didn't seem to affect anything. Maybe I implemented it wrong, or maybe that cpu isn't up to this job. I don't know much about HH currently, could it help this?

i hope everyone will re-test the games they have tested on the Wiki as much as they can when a new version has been released, keep everyone up to date.

I'm thinking the same. Gamestop here I come!

hey really cool work zodttd, how do you personally feel about your progress on the emu?

.... it would only be easier if you're assuming he "acquired" these games legally  .....

I seriously don't understand what's going on here. Is this thing really running this fast with 3D games and 2D games? What's the catch? No sound, right? But still, without sound it shouldn't be running 20+ fps with 3D games, should it? Can somebody please make some videos of this thing in action, showing exactly how fast it is running (Preferrably, one 2D game (Bust-A-Move?) and a 3D game (Final Fantasy Tactics would be wonderful)? I'm just wondering because I want to know exactly how far you guys and the developer expects this thing to go (Full speed PSX emulation allowing me to play FFT would be undescribable).

Well it would be 20fps at say fs3 not 60fps eg 20 / 3 = 5 fps true speed i think which makes sense but its such early days anyway.....

I feel the same. It all sounds very exciting but I am not going to spend ages trying to get my Playstation games into a bin file to be impressed but not actually play anything. I think the thing to do is just wait and see. It seems to be developing very quickly, so if it reaches a stage where games are playable and someone puts together an easy to use guide to converting your PSX discs to bin, this will be essential.

When I bought my GP2X I hoped for full speed SNES at best, but we already have a version of Quake that is way beyond anything the SNES (or Playstation) could do, so the future looks bright (I know emulation is different to porting games, but i am still very impressed). What will Rlyeh make of it all?

About the ripping of PSX games to bin files, you basically click on 'read to image file' or something along those lines in Alcohol 120%, wait 2 minutes, and that's it.

Well, i tried final fantasy tactics and all it gave me was a green screen :(

I ripped it with Winiso, converted it to a .bin file, and then compressed it to .znx with pocketiso 2.0. I would test the original .bin file but I don't have room on my SD card :(
