Gp2psx V0.35

yes

(ps: of course, not noticeably in idle showing windows desktop with 1Go of RAM :p but capturing means accessing to the ram and a storage device, plus a small tiny bit of CPU time, when you're using 100% of the machine, that's noticeable, that was a big problem of FRAPS in it's early versions ;) cuz even my big modern pc skipps a frame or 2 when capturing a big videogame :p when i had less ram you could hear it swap a second! :D )

I just tried out Crash Bandicoot it runs better than I expected but still very much unplayable. Things are coming along quite well with gp2psx though, keep it up.

Has anyone managed to get ff7 to work with ripped videos? With me it freezes when it gets to a rip. Also, how is anyone getting to run it at 20fps? it seems to run really slow for me :S

Most games won't work without videos: try using the smallest as source.

What program can I use so it will save it as a bin when I alter the videos?

Just uncompress it with pocketiso again, but don't overwrite the original...

Can't do that... unless I'm mistaken, the .table file that comes with the .Z tells the emulator what size/position the movies are in after the compression.

garr... I'm asking what I can use to open the .bin so I can replace it with blank strs, then save it back as a .bin.

Just wanted to let you know I'm still working on GP2PSX. There was a break in development for a few days, and that's like years in GP2PSX timeframe. So I'm getting things back up and working on it some more. I'll keep everyone updated.

Btw, I couldn't find the source code for e}|{'s softGPU. If I can get ahold of it, I'll get it working in GP2PSX and see how it goes.
I'll double check if there was a Linux version, if there is I might be able to get it up and running as an external file instead of being compiled in like the rest of GP2PSX's "plugins".

I keep thinking how I should head over to Game Stop and pick up a handful of cheap used PSX games. BTW, I finally figured out that the easiest way to rip games in OS X is with Toast 7, now I just have to figure out a way to compress them so they arent all so dang huge.

i couldn,t find any reference that e}|{'s softGPU would have it,s source shareware/open/downloadable but pete of P.E.O.P.S suggest,s on his site that many current gpu,s are based of Duddie's Soft GPU sources

http://www.pbernert.com/duddie_gpu_src.zip

e}|{ seems to have incorperated Derek liauws 2xsai engine

http://elektron.et.tudelft.nl/~dalikifa/2xSaI_sources.rar "C++/C"
http://elektron.et.tudelft.nl/~dalikifa/source/2xSaImmx.asm "i386 tough "

i think this is you already know of but i post the links anyways

https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=39401
http://www.pbernert.com/html/dev.htm

if i find any clues to where the sources for e}|{'s softGPU i will post it surely

cheers

Quick google search pulled up this:

http://www.pocketmatrix.com/guides/psxrip/

Edit: this looks better: http://www.zophar.net/tech/files/thepsxdoc2.txt
Whenever I try this it doesn't work, just creates a crashing image, in both psxe and gp2psx

Guide there and 2 a bit different guides in my sig (the one from another site is the one I took most of the information from). Or you can always buy a larger SD card....

How did you get M2CDM to work with ff7? It crashes for me with large files, and I've found this other guide which has worked with epsxe, but I'm yet to test it with gp2x, Il'll post back with news soon.

Weird, it doesn't seem to work on my gp2x, just freezes after it shows the green copyright style thing

this was the guide I used

Hmm, it seems the M2CDM cannot support large amounts of files (command line limitation). I'll get back to you if I can get another FREE program and update the guide accordingly...

Edit: Um... zodttd are you trying to get framerate working at 50/60 hz with frameskip or something? We have not gotten any updates for awhile, and in the past we got updates like every other day...
