I'm always up for peeking down a womans blouse :D
  great post

It does indeed look like gp32 euro firmware, or at least a variation of it... I hope that means what we all think it means, but I woudn't get my hopes up until an official announcement is made ;)

Too bad they didn't just re-release the Gp32 basically the way it was with only a few minor changes. Give it a brighter high contrast screen, add 2 more buttons, and change SMC to SD card, and make them all go up to 300 MHz. That would have been better than this microscopic screen thingy.

Hmmm DaveC, I wonder if there is a handheld that is similar to that.

Really, the mini-ness is one of the best selling factors for XGP Mini/Kids. Otherwise, they wouldn't be much different from the GP32/GP2X.

There's been so much conflicting information flying around that I don't think I'm going to believe anything until these units are in people's hands and we get some reviews based on the final units.

I think they did everything perfectly except for the screen size, but I can image that they are trying to bring cost down. In that case, they could have found a chipset without a 3D accelerator and then up the screen to atleast 3".

For some reason I think that a 3.5" 320x240 screen costs less than a 2" one with the same resolution.

Do you think that maybe gamepark knew that people liked the menu on that firmware, so they just cloned it? I see that as quite likely.

Yeah, that's always a possibility. Hopefully not though.

Errr, apart from the processor bit they did all of that. Yeah, yeah, say what you want about the screen, but in my mind the design is pretty much flawless. Proper digital controller, small size, Li-on battery (hurrah!); it's all good.

I'm so looking forward to this.

Small screens damage eyeballs, it's as simple as that. Proprietary Li-ion batteries put a cap on a device's lifespan, flexibility, and portability. All in all the GP2X got it right, and that's what I will buy after my 32 expires.

If this small device kicks of AND is compatible with the gp32 software, this would mean than there are tons and tons of games playable on this small machine with help of some great emulators out there.

But then again, even if it IS 'bios' compatible. It could very well have BLU+ screen and or sound issues ;)

I am definitely trying to get one if it runs gp32 software!
