it can be done using the gigas engine as a base... or something...

the gameplay is a bit like a cross between harvest moon/animal crossing, the sims, and pokemon.

players have a fully customisable plot of land and a house that they can put things in... (items will have a graphic, and a (sometimes unique) description...)

also players own characters can have different choices of armour/weapons/costumes etc...

players can go adventuring to get money/items/experience...

every couple of days, players should upload their current save file (including things like character changes, house/grounds/items changes...)

and they should also download the current updated data file that is combined from the other players so far...

In the game, players can visit other players' houses to gawp, leave messages, and arrange trade.

And there will be shops to buy adventuring equipment, and other items. maybe even virtual pets (imagine buying a chocobo to keep in a fenced enclosure you built)

a really wacky idea would be for players to be able to meet online and go on special quests as a team through the pc (on the pc monitor, not on gp32)

even without this function, i think that a large part of the programming would be for pc/web

this is years beyond my programming capabilities, but i think i really should write a 'treatment' for this... anyone any comments please...?

edit: additions, minor changes.

massively multiplayer, but not real time. players upload/download to the server every couple days/hour/whenever, and the software at the server end compiles an updated collective dat file, and occasional other updates...

I thought of something like that before...

1. Player completes "training" quests, and a file is built that tells how he plays and stuff (mabye suing a neural net combined with some other stuff?)

2. Player uploads file to server, and he is assigned a team and starting city in some world, then he downloads a file with all his team/city info and the files of all the other players (mabye combined into one file)

3. Player battles for his team on the GP32, going and killing everone else, collecting powerups, or anything else, and his file is constantly updated.

4. Player uploads new file and goes back to step 3.

With this there would be no winners/losers, because what the ppls actually do is only stored on the GP32, but their AI selves are on the server. So every few days, the server should set up a world on the server and let all the AI players do what they want, then the results are published :) And we can see who is the best MUHAHAHAAHA :p (Oh, the powerups from the person should not come with him to the server - but if he has played well, his AI should be able to find the powerups that he got fast enough...)

it sounds kind of like frontiers, but if you had it had a setting for it to just keep uploading to the sever it would kind of be real time. It sounds really fun though
