Genesis Emulator

hmm, Loridan hasn't posted since just up there at the top of this page... I wonder if he's abandoned it. Or maybe he's just working really hard :p

doesn't the Atari ST have a 68000 chip in it? I think it runs slower than the megadrive one, but maybe someone could use the core of the Atari St emu... If we ask the author very nicely...

Nomads are awesome, now if only nintendo had done the same with the SNES...(GBA ports don't count) I didnt like, however, that 6 AA's lasted about 2hrs :( Probably a side effect of having such a brilliant light.

I had Shining Force 2, The genesis Phantasy Stars, Shining in the Darkness, Dune 2, and a bunch of fighers/platformers, it was a nice system...

A genesis emu would be a nice edition, I know there are a few genesis games that I would love to have portable (again)

Nomads used respectable sized Genesis cartridges, SNES cartridges were roughtly half thesize ot the GINORMOUS NES carts... way to big for a handheld.

Could someone please contact loridan if he is working on the core? I am really interested in this.
Rob

Check www.zophar.net, under documents or something I think they have docs on the genesis processor, and do a couple quick searches around the net, should be able to make something surface :)

This is the whole reason I bought a GP32. I knew things would get even better! Cheers Lordian, all the best. Can't wait to see this project finished :)

20 days and not a peep...

I hope he's still working on it. Then again I also hope Rlyeh's not dead either. Both of them are our only hope for Genesis emulators

NO! There is another......

uh, no sorry guys, there isnt really, I was just going with the moment... umm you saw nothing! move along! These are not the droids you're looking for!

Yes, the ST had the same CPU and they were running at roughly the same speed. The ST had weak sprite hardware and a terrible sound chip that wasn't even stereo though. So a Genesis emu would be a little tougher, But I think it could be done as it is not as sophisticated as the SNES.
