I dont get it, which files do i need and where?

Ive only used simple Emu's before, with just the Emu and rom...

aye, I have, but i dont understand, all i understand is i need the *.IMG

...

Then I dont get it

BTW , im talkin about CaSTaway

Be thankful there isn't an Amiga emulator yet. That'd confuse more than a few peeps I bet. :)

Me personally I can't wait for one.

As for castaway I really can't explain it's use any better than the already excellent manual. I suggest you re read it and then post specific questions if you're still stuck.

Put Castawa+.fxe or Castaway.fxe in GPMM.
Create a folder in GPMM called ATARIST.
In this put DISKA.STT, DISKB.STT, and TOS.IMG (you will need to find this last file from somewhere on http://www.atari.st/ ).
Next you need to find images of the games you would like to play and put them in GPMM\ATARIST. From your post it seems as though you have found *.IMG files and from the readme, I presume the must work, but all the games Ihave are zipped files containg .MSA files.

Once you have done all this, run Catsaway on your GP and choose your game and you should be away. Try looking on the Castaway forum on this message board if you need more help.

Hope you get it working as Castaway is one of the best around. Commando is arcade perfect.

The *.img mentioned in the operating system for the Atari ST. Its not included, iirc, because its potentially copyright, so could get Skeezix in trouble if it were potentially. So you need to find one, make sure its called TOS.img (any other names, and you'll have to select it manually - just put the cursor over an .img file in the rom selector and press A). Also try and use 1.02 since it is most compatible.

Hope that helped.

Can Castaway play .st games? I got lemmings but won't go any further than the introduction (it is a bloody cracked game :() Also i don't seem to have either DISKA.STT or DISKB.STT!

Cheers,

PS: For Amiga emulation you will need a ROM file (1.2,1.3,2.0, etc) and a workbench (and others) adf file. :) Sorry couldn't resist!

yes, it supports .ST games. i too have been having some problems getting a few cracked games to work (shame on me), and the best solution i've found so far is to try the same game released by another pirate group.

 I cant find any TOS roms, can someone link me to one? or is this Warez

You need to create yourself two files named diska.stt and diskb.stt This is listed in the doc's so is the reason why. Can't see the confusion as the documentation is very thorough

as Craig already mentioned, it's warez.

edit: CU_AMiGA, you could also try using different versions of the TOS ROM
Yeah, the earlier TOS releases seem more stable. And changing crack group definetly helps.

Sorry to bring the old topic up again. I have finally got the Atari ST emu working. I have got Speedball 2, Rainbow Islands, Bubble Bobble, etc working. Which i am pretty pleased with. I have also got TOS 1.02 (recommened version). But i still can't get Lemmings to work properly. It gets to level 1 and an error message comes up saying something (to do with the mouse limit i think). Has anyone else got Lemmings working on CaSTaway?

Regards,

Cant find anything about it. The error message is: "IkbdRecv: Input buffer overrun". And the lemmings mouse pointer wont reach the icons.

Christmas lemmings worked flawlessly for me but I remember having some trouble with other lemmings versions, can't remember which though.

Which version of Lemmings is this? I have never heard of it? So Lemmings don't work properly on CaSTaway? Will this problem ever be solved? What causes it?

Thanks Mikey,

Does the game still work fully though? Or does the mouse stop at a point on the screen (aka can't reach the bottom icons or not at the side)
