I'm compiling on my Pandora using the devtools command line interface. Its a port so there is an existing makefile. When I compile, I'm getting the error:
gcc.org: error: /init/cbspecsfile: no such file or directory
I've checked and cbspecsfile is in the appdata/init directory for the...
Hi all,
I've added plume-creator to repo, an application for writing novels similar to scrivener:
http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=plume-creator.marovada
It's a straight recompile of an open source app by Cyril Jacquet, packaged into a pnd. It works well and even adjusts to the...
Fabrice Ballard, the original developer of Qemu, has written a PC emulator running a linux operating system in a browser using javascript:
See Engadget story
It's got shell commands, tcc and even vi.
Edit: Bellard
Does anyone else have to reboot every time they need to use a usb 3g modem? Also, if I have the modem in on boot up, connect, disconnect and then pull the modem out and put it back in again, it's not recognised when I put it back in until a reboot.
I've read that usb 1.1 devices stop the usb...
Why am I so staringly, strangely, glaringly, surely, sadly, crazily ,madly, insanely, maddeningly, amazingly, curiously, clearly, obviously, obsessed with this stuff??
Here it is
Windows 3.00a can now run on the Nintendo DS via DSX86 - which is the ARM version of a DOS emulator.
I can't program in ASM, but think of the possibilities?

Benchmarking with Norton sysinfo in dos:
stock 500mhz Pandora = Pentium 128mhz
600mhz Pandora = Pentium 158mhz
900mhz Pandora = Pentium 231mhz
"Usual caveats" means I know the benchmarks may not be a true reflection of speed esp in games.
Blurry pics available on demand.
I know that a doom engine already runs on the Pandora but I wanted to test the original dos game with qemu. This is the result:
It's not bad - not that fast - but is only running at 600mhz. I haven't gone to 900mhz yet (I tried but the system became unstable).
I'm not sure if this has been done already, but my arm compiled qemu has finally done something right. I've installed dos, windows 3.1 and civ2. Here is a video of civ 2 running at a good speed without any overclocking (yep - qemu is fast!)
Before anyone asks, I can't get qemu to boot win...
I'm compiling on device but some programs need gcc 3.x instead of 4.x. Anyone know how to get gcc 3.x for angstrom besides having to compile it myself. It's not in the repo.
My main problem is with qemu. I've successfully compiled the latest version but it won't boot hard disk images. It's...
Qemu needs zlib header and libraries to configure. This was easy on the device itself. I just compiled and installed zlib from source.
I then tried to compile qemu on the device but it ran out of memory
I then set up the cross compiling tools on ubuntu. Qemu will not configure...
Someone has got some basic windows programs (eg solitaire) running on the N900 with a build of QEMU-i386, WINE and a chroot. Apparently the virtual machine equates to a P90 with 256MB of ram - perfect for a lot of pre-3d accelerated windows games.
I've tried to do something similar for the...
I've got windows 95 running on a Sharp Netwalker - also an arm device. Video is here: Win 95 Netwalker vid
I'm really impressed with the speed of the netwalker compared with previous generation devices (eg Zaurus, ipaq). It's a little beauty. Only problem is crappy keyboard but okay when you...
