Good luck zodttd! Look forward to the next dosbox release!
Honestly, I think Dosbox (among other homebrews) really set GP2X apart from other more popular handheld! Can't wait for your next release!

Hi - thanks for releasing another version - I was looking forward to this? BTW, did this bugfix version added the functionality of diagonal in the d-pad?

Hi Zottdd,
This is one of the best GP2X news I heard in the week and I wish you luck in working on this! I grew up with all the amazing dos games and it would be great to be able to relive all the classics. Not being a computer programmer, it is virtually impossible for me to make new...
Hey Zx - thanks for the emu! Your speed of porting makes me dizzy! Anyhow, I am wondering if someone can confirm the save state for v1.02 and v.103 are compatible. My Snatcher save state does not appear to load properly and I just want to make sure it is me and not the compatibility of v1.03...
Hey Zx,
Thanks for the emulator, this is a great addition to the emulator scene!!! Couple of quesitons:
1. Is there a way to map joystick diagonals? I only see u/d/l/r in the key mapping screen.
2. When I try Wizard's crown - on the setup screen you can indicate you have 2 disk drives...
Agreed! But think many old dos games has many keystrokes (i.e utilize the whole keyboard) and the current gp2x-dosbox does not have a virtual keyboard and mouse support. Playing these games requires extensive keymapping which is a pain. We need a virtual keyboard and a mouse support...
Hi Chaozz,
I know in Dosbox for win32 you can add the command as "frameskip=xx" where xx=# of skip (not sure if this will work for gp2x but you can try)
I usually use cycles=2500 or 3000 as GP2X can not handle higher cycles.
~gates
no - but you can increase the cycles. dosbox does not allow you to overclock within the program (except changing the cycle). You can also try the frameskip. Try overclocking before starting dosbox (although in real life I find it to have little impact).
gates
Just so you know, you can also combine key press for two keys together;
hand_shutdown "key 108 mod1"
mod_1 "key 107"
so here if you press L & R together dosbox will exit
What I would like to see is full listing of the key mapping numbers for the GP2X buttons. Anyone have them?
don't know if this helps:
L=108 R=107
NW=98 N=97 NE=104 Y=111
W=99 In =115 E=103 A=109 B=110
SW=100 S=101 SE=102 X=112
V- =113 V+ =114...
Hello all,
I was able to get it working and would like to write down the steps I took to make it work so that others can use this as a reference:
1. Make sure you have a fresh install of b2x. If for some reason it fails to boot or install, it may be helpful to reinstall the b2x zipped file...
Hey bOingball,
Thanks for your help! I finally got this to work. For some reason, I have to reinstall the game after inputting your instructions to the dosbox.conf and candle.gpe files but got it working now nevertheless. Thanks again!
Good luck with your hospital visit (hope it is nothing...
Thanks Pickle - I hope this helps bOingball in solving the problem in the gp2x build - I have no access nor knownledge in running dosbox in linux so your help is appreciated. Now, wondering why WinXP's dosbox is also behaving oddly - ie. not work if mounted on a "non-native" drive...
Haven't try Alone yet - won't be able to try it until Friday. Is it part of the package for v0.70? ~gates
I experience the same problem in GP2X and WinXp of dosbox so I am incline to think it may be a mount problem as both have the same mount issue.... I hope bOingball has better luck than...
Hi Telengard,
Thanks for your reply. I am not sure actually, as it was a rather fast play through. I will try to be more specific next time, but great work tho! I would never imagine I can gotten this far... a big thank you!

Hey Pickle, thanks for validating my sanity! Yes, this is strange indeed. I know the problem I am encountering in GP2X has a "similar" vein under WinXP so I am not sure how to solve it. That's is why I was asking silly question like what is the "native" drive letter for the SD card! (Because...
Short answer is Yes.
In WinXP dosbox - let's say my usb is plugged in as drive e: - you can still mount it as c:\ (or any other drive you want except z). You can mount any sub-directory as your root. For example c:\games\magic, you can mount the whole tree as "c:" and if you type c:, it...
I don't have a Top Ten list yet but here's what I found enjoyable so far:
SNES - Front Mission I - fan-translated
SNES - Shin Megami Tensei - Fan-translated
Sega MD - Shadowrun
Sega MD - Starflight

Hi Pickle - tried your suggestion and in fact it was what I had before. Didn't work. The game is mounted in /mnt/sd/dosbox/mc1/candle
Here's the file:
For mcandle.gpe
#! /bin/sh
DIRROOT=/mnt/sd/
DIRGAME=${DIRROOT}/dosbox/mc1/candle
cd ${DIRGAME}
${DIRROOT}/dosbox/dosbox -conf...
