Dosbox 0.70.1 Released

Good luck zodttd! Look forward to the next dosbox release!

Honestly, I think Dosbox (among other homebrews) really set GP2X apart from other more popular handheld! Can't wait for your next release!

The Gp2x version of Dosbox has been updated to 0.70.1.
The Gp2x should benefit from the following updates from the 0.70 code
Speed up the screen drawing code.
Various fixes to the (C/E/V)GA emulation.
Extended and improved all types of emulated memory. (umb/ems/xms)
Various timer related fixes.
Added a few more graphic scalers.

Hello bOing,

I've crosscompiled dosbox 0.65 and 0.70 to another 255mhz ARM9-based portable, the Nokia 770.

Running at 250mhz, it's in the same class as the gp2x, but with slightly slower memory.

With careful dosbox.conf optimization, I found most 8088/8086 games to be playable (Alleycat, Ultima IV) and a couple of 286 class games as well (Prince of Persia) in DosBox 0.65.

With DosBox 7 i ran into graphics errors with EGA/VGA output - false colors and lines onscreen. Did you have to make any changes, esp with alignment issues for ARM?

I also found a lot more sync and speed problems, making 0.70 unusable for most games (but not all). Did you have to make any changes in this regard? How is speed of 0.70 vs 0.65?

I found benchmark programs (mips.com, checkit) to be fairly useless, since they were frameskip dependent. Have you found a way to compare performance reliably?

Any info would be appreciated. Cheers!
