To further that more specifically - anyone managed to hook up a 3 inch capacitive touch screen?

How difficult a task would this be?

A case of a bit of soldering or a case of writing drivers for a new screen?

Capacitive touch screens are horrid why would you want one, having a capacitive screen doesn't magically give you multi-touch if that's what your thinking.. Also why one smaller than the current 4.3" screen size.

If I remember correctly dgame fitted Nintendo DSi hinges into the Pandora - can't find the proper thread tough

If I knew what I was doing, I'd probably try and swap the nubs out for some proper "joysticks".

Just 3D print some klick-on joystick extensions for the nubs :)
Alas, I don't (yet) have a 3D printer.

I suppose I should find out if it is actually the nubs I hate. I find them useless for controlling the mouse in XFCE, but I don't know whether this is physically the nubs are toss, or if it's the software interaction.

The fact that you can rotate them 360 always felt "wrong" too

you could make use sugru to make joysticks..

of course you couldn't close the pandora anymore..
