I have a Linux box I use for downloading, and man, bandwidth throttling is SO much better in Linux. My broadband router, unfortunately, doesn't have any throttling options. Once I find another old computer, I'm going to convert that into a Linux router. I'll also get a better firewall out of the deal.

Wondershaper. Mmmm.

My internet-connection is ruled by a Draytek Vigor Router. I can highly recommend it, you will safe lot of electricity running a Router instead of a routing computer.
