Hi,

I got an issue with a battery charger i bought from 7daysshop.com to use with my GP2x as recommended from someone from this site. I bought this charger, this one :

and their 2800 mAh batteries, these:

but for some reason the charger won't charge them. You put them in, its says its charging for like 3 - 4 minutes (by a red light showing) then says their charged (with a green light). But when i try and use them, the batteries are completely dead. Whats even stranger, is i bought two of these chargers, and two packs of batteries and they all do the same thing. Is it possible the charger cant handle 2800 mAh batteries (as the instructions only give charging times up to 2700 mAh) or is it something else. its annoying cos i cant use my GP2x :(

any suggestions?

Cheers,

The only way to find out what is wrong is to try the batteries in another brand of charger, or try another brand of batteries in your charger.

I'd recommend getting either Maha or Annsman batteries, next time. It looks like a good charger you got, though, seeing that it is V-Delta and can charge batteries individually is the most important thing.

BTW, if the charger is V-Delta, like yours, it should be able to handle any capacity battery, even 3000mah if they ever come out. That's one reason why timed chargers suck, because they can't handle future capacities.. Good you don't have one.

Have you tried discharging the batteries.

They may appear 'dead' but bad cells can sometimes be revived by doing some charge/discharge cycles

I had a timed charger once that regularly made cells go bad.
They were all revived when I got a new charger with a discharge function :)
