Can We Emulate The Pandora Os Through Qemu?

This would require two things.

A: Source code for the Pandora OS (It's probably somewhere, but I sure wouldn't know where to begin looking)

B: That QEmu supports OMAP emulation well.

It would be nice to have an emulator to actually see some progress, as well as what the problems are!

A: http://git.openpandora.org/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi
B: http://wiki.qemu.org/Main_Page

But you can just as easily compile the Pandora stuff on your PC to see how it works...

There's another option if you just want to get the feel of Angstrom + XFCE. You can build your own "Pandora like" ARMv7a package on the official Angstrom site and run it in Qemu. Check out this old (old!) thread: http://www.gp32x.de...emu-package-exe

Blog link: http://pandorapress....o-try-angstrom/

That thread was bumped in December, see post #18. I was hoping someone would take up the request of putting a new package together, with XFCE, Firefox and a few other bits and pieces, maybe at correct resolution too if possible. It's very little effort for someone who knows what they're doing, sadly I couldn't quite make it work. (You can still download the original one linked on the blog, but it doesn't bear much resemblance to the Pandora desktop of today). If someone has the time to do it, we'll ask Atomicthumbs to host the new package.

Yay! Fast Response!

Thanks for the Links Tom!

Thanks gruso, but I wanted to test out the official os as it's created. Maybe I'll make a script that downloads and makes an Image every day, then runs it in QEmu!

Edit: It probably won't happen for a few days/weeks. I'm pretty busy nowadays, and I also need to get over a cold.

No worries. If you end up putting together a Qemu image, do share! :)

I'll also keep my request open for someone to build a Pandora-like image using the Angstrom image builder. I'd love to share that on the blog. If anyone's keen, shout out and we'll work out which bits to include.

So, I'm going through that thing you showed me as it looks pretty simple. Selected Omap3-Pandora, XFCE4, firefox.

However, XFCE failed in the end for some reason. It has a big red x by it.Any suggestions?<br><br>Edit: I guess I could try and install it through the emulator, but I'm not so handy with make in linux. I'm downloading the Image now.<br>
