Hullo!

Just a couple quick questions from an Aussie here. The AC Adapter, what kind of plug does the AC adapter fit into? I will need some sort of converter, but wondering what they look like.

Thanks!

The AC adaptor is in two parts: The actual power brick, with a simple "figure 8" connector, and a socket to "figure 8" cable lead.
This is like most laptop power supplies.

You probably have a choice of at least US/EU/UK socket styles, maybe even Aussie ones too, and you could probably buy a cable, rather than an adaptor, cheaply enough since it's a standard part.

and the adaptor is compatible with psp from what I recall resulting in easy to get adaptor from your local vendor in case of problems...

Welcome Rectal Exambot, fellow inhabitant of the arse end of the earth.

Might be the arse end of the earth, but it's a bloody marvellous arse, if I may say so, mate.

...even though thinking about a rectal exambot frolicking the streets of Sydney I might change my opinion...

Sorry for being OT, I just had to :)

Hehe. I got a PM today asking what Sydney/Australia was like. I ended up three paragraphs in and realising how much I love the place. :)

"only" spend 4 months in Sydney and it's already 7 years ago, but completely fell in love :) If you know someone looking for an IT specialist that speaks fluently german, give me a call ;) I 'll bring my own Pandora (hopefully).

Long time since I've logged in here but the Pandora is just too amazing to ignore. I have a question too. I read somewhere about the Pandora having in-built 3G. This would be very awesome but when I scan the wiki I can't find this information. I know about the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Is the 3G statement I read true?

Sounds good, although I imagine with it being such a small unit it could only work with low-power USB devices. A HSDPA-capable USB dongle might be too much for it, no?

I'm looking through all the wikis and making my final decision about ordering the Pandora. It's a lot of money but I'd be spending that on a UMPC otherwise. I'd prefer an ultra-ultra mobile PC. :)

Oh, and if anyone who has tested a Pandora sees this, what kind of WPM can be achieved through typing? I might use this for taking notes in lectures, you see.

No. Full support, 500ma sustained and 700ma peak. So long as it doesn't exceed the standard, it will be fine.
The only catch is that the USB port is high speed only. You need to make sure any USB dongle is listed as USB2.0 High Speed. Full Speed devices need an adapter.

Yeah,

It ain't easy living in Australia though... We often have to fight the aboriginals, drop bear attacks, gold rushes, the fact we are a convict nation... ect

At the risk of angering Gruso and others, nothing against Sydney, but...

Melbourne is better

*hides kittens*

Bah.

You all wish you were Brisbane.

...unless you wanted to see a major event, or have a wide range of specialist stores to shop at, or not have to explain to people where you are...

@dropbears that wasnt pratchett. I cant remember where IT Comes from but i remember something about à myth told to à Canadian visitor.

Sorry for wrong capitalization. My mobile like to correct randomly

I'm Australian (Perth), but I now live in Austria. Haven't lived in Australia for a while now, been back a few times, but I enjoy the nature of the rest of the planet, too much I suppose.

Sure do miss the beaches though!
