So,
I'm a complete Linux noob, but I'd like to try out the Gecko Mediaplayer.
This is supposed to be a Firefox compatible plugin which allows playing of Flash content using Gnome Mplayer.
Looks to be a nice solution for Youtube, etc.
Since the Gnome Mplayer comes preinstalled on the Pandora, I'm guessing this just might work.

So, I'd like to figure out this linux installation thing.
It is a file *.tar.gz
Do I need to compile and install it, or do I need a package manager?
Please, if you could help, type as if you were speaking to a small child.
Thanks,
j.
