Hi Folks,

I have got a GP2X that says it is firmware 3.0 on the start up, what firmware should I be running? I am looking to use SDHC cards and I am un sure how to make these work, does a firmware upgrade work this out and if so where would I find the file? I own a 4gb toshiba card at present

Sorry if these sound really basic questions however I seem to be getting myself more confused everytime I read diffrent posts around these issues

A firmware upgrade does sort it out, but I'd do some research first. There's a lot of discussion about FW4.0, and it's not all rosy.

Agree, I use FW 4.1.0 F-100 but that's only because my 2X won't flash open2x no matter what I do. :( (gottta get more SD cards to try, I'm not giving up!)

The comments about it are really nice.

Make sure you read and understand all the instructions properly before flashing it: http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/gp2x.cgi?0,0,0,0,42,2751

Hi,
thanks guys for the fast reply, loaded in and flashed my machine no probs, nice front end, however for some reason I still can not get the GP32 to recognise a SDHC card, ihave formated it in fat 32, is there anything else I need to do?

once again thanks for the help

Unfortunately Open2X doesn't have perfect compatibility with all SDHC cards (yet), mainly because I don't have any incompatible SDHC cards to play with. Are you sure its not being seen? By that I mean, you installed an app to a folder and when trying to, say, add a link in GMenu2X it doesn't see anything in the SD/ folder?
