Gp32linux And Opie :) [pda]

thanks for the link
exactly what i wanted
as long as we have the source we can port
quite "easly" i think
most of the apps use qtopia
and i used zaurus toolkit to compile qte and opie
[ from where come the screenshots i posted] :)
there are some java things too
so maybe i will try some java stuff too

as i start to understand a little the strange messages you got when making a linux
distribution from scractch
i will inspect when i have some time the possibility of zaurus binaries compatibility
[ as long as they use zaurus tooolkit , and dont use optimisations ]

hope that with the eu gp32 launch, more devloppers will join
to help us, especially for the kernel

Oooowwww, Opera on the GP32.

i haven't been watching this TOO closely...

but is there going to be a way to make the screen so it is wide instead of tall?

just wondering... ;)

What? Of course I read the whole topic, I just never found them saying that they will put the screen like Wind-ups and not like all the screens of opie that are proportioned like a PDA which would be stupid for the GP32 because its not mean to be held sideways.

Hmm, sorry then, must've been in another topic. But it is possible to rotate the screen 90 degrees. Opie supports I think, and directfb has a command to rotate too.

good news everyone :)
------------------
i ve suceeded to get around the "kernel too old" problem
by replacing some standard linux libs in the ipaq familiar 0.72
and i suceeded to run qpdf from the ipaq familiar distribution

that s good news for the future
--------------------------------------
the truth is
that gp32 is binary compatible with the ipaq and the zaurus !!!!

------------------------------------

it takes still too long to load
but here it is
sysinfo from familiar, i dont see a mouse pointer, maybe because it s compiled with stylus pointing by default ?

the mouse driver can be found on the cvs
little problem, it seems its not linked with my kernel when i compile
can someone try please ?
thanks

toholl told me it works with gpm

OMG one step closer!!! Someone should set up a site similar to the sites for X-Box and Gamecube Linux.
Those sites basically tell you the status of the project, show screens, tell you the hardware specs (of GC or X-box)
and what the linux could be used for on the said system.

what about asking them to share the desgin and make a gp32 linux Project...
with a link to the other pages and so on..
i could perhaps do such a page... next weeks after this school year is over i have time for those things
