Gstreamer-ti

buuuuut... it's slow, so I'm guessing it's now using community codec pack plugins :S Right I'll install your ipks again!

OK. Don't forget to reboot.

And you can redo tests with playbin2 too.

Also instead of :

gst-launch -v filesrc location=sample.avi ! avidemux name=demux demux.audio_00 ! queue max-size-buffers=1200 max-size-time=0 max-size-bytes=0 ! mad ! alsasink demux.video_00 ! queue ! TIViddec2 ! queue max-size-buffers=2 max-size-time=0 max-size-bytes=0 ! TIDmaiVideoSink videoStd=VGA videoOutput=LCD

use :

gst-launch -v filesrc location=sample.avi ! avidemux name=demux demux.audio_00 ! queue max-size-buffers=1200 max-size-time=0 max-size-bytes=0 ! TIAuddec1 ! alsasink demux.video_00 ! queue ! TIViddec2 ! queue max-size-buffers=2 max-size-time=0 max-size-bytes=0 ! TIDmaiVideoSink videoStd=VGA videoOutput=LCD

to use the mp3 codec from TI.

Not what we want to see:

kevin-openpandora:~$ gst-inspect-0.10 | grep TI
ffmpeg: ffenc_tiff: FFmpeg TIFF image encoder

ffmpeg: ffdec_tiff: FFmpeg TIFF image decoder

ffmpeg: ffdec_vcr1: FFmpeg ATI VCR1 decoder

Isn't libgstticodecplugin.so in /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/ with all the other plugins ?

I am clueless :/

Maybe it's blacklisted : gst-inspect-0.10 -b ?

aha! Yes it's blacklisted!

libgstdfbvideosink.so

libgstrtp.so

libgstticodecplugin.so

all blacklisted!

Maybe you can try :

rm ~/.gstreamer-0.10/registry*

gst-inspect-0.10 /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstticodecplugin.so

kevin-openpandora:~$ rm ~/.gstreamer-0.10/registry*
kevin-openpandora:~$ gst-inspect-0.10 /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstticodecplugin.so

Segmentation fault

Yes, it was using the DSP.

Now we have to try with a patched kernel as a hole in memory map doesn't work well with the current one.

BTW: I talked with TI today.

We are free to include these codecs in the community codec pack :)

Yeah we also had a video playing for less than a second. Hopefully we'll do better tomorrow with a patched kernel! :D
