My headphone jack only plays one side, but on both ear phones. And the sound is heavily distorted...it dosent matter what program i'm in.

MP3's arent even listenable.

Anything I can do?

damaged jack on THE headphones? try putting it in a CD player and listen...

otherwise damaged jack on the GP. Try your warranty.

This has happened to me with every walkman and discman I have ever owned. I put it down to me often taking the ear phones out and not making any effort to protect the headphone jack from things when the item is in my bag or coat pocket. I am taking extra special care of my GP though and I keep it in a case where it is free from dust and debris and I hope to avoid this problem.

my headphones went in the washing machine and worked fine (no i didnt put them there) anyone else notice how the headphones dont go ALL the way into the jack?

They do - but you have to push harder until you hear a click
Perhaps this is the problem that iamanevilcarrot has ?
