I have heard numerous times that to run a project on KS , you need to have a working prototype. Looks like that's a chinese whisper, as the actual rules don't say you need a working prototype . Projects like the Ouya are still possible under KS rules, they just need to be presented according to some guidelines. You can't have photorealistic renderings of a product concept, however, Technical drawings, CAD designs, sketches, and other parts of the design process are allowed.
Looks like a P2 is possible on KS without needing a working prototype. Not that you would, but the option is there.
