Let's go - Help wanted :) (2012-10-01)

Upgraded from Craig's shop, I'm hoping this helps the project :)

Not sure if it helps to upgrade from craigs shop right now, as you will be in another waiting line. Better get it from ED, as he has them in stock?

Or is this wrong?

Hi

I would like to "upgrade" my original order to get it faster, but this site seems to be broken (worked on Sunday, but i was undecided...):

http://openpandora.o...emid=46&lang=en

I tired in Opera and Midory.

How could i do the upgrade in the most convenient way for you ED? I am in your queue and have ordering number and E-Mail address at hand. I have an account on www.dragonbox.com with the same E-mail address and would like to add some small items (No M T-Shirt right now, a bitty, i would love one of those too since it is a nice simple shirt, i would accept a delay of my order for one of those!).

Here you stated that the minimum upgrade price is 101,15 EUR (incl. VAT):

I would like to pay 150EUR (incl. VAT) for the upgrade plus what the other items cost. I would pay from another bank account in Germany than the one i used for my original payment I hope that is no problem (I closed the old one, so no way to change that).

Is there any way of doing this conveniently for you. Otherwise i will just and wait until the upgrade form works again :p . I would though only order the other things if everything could be send in one package (I moved from Germany and sending to Denmark is not cheap).

Thanks

Ed, you are a joke to any self respecting business owner, you keep on begging like its nothing and making up excuses for everything, i do not feel any pitty for you, i hope your already failed project keeps on failing.
You're mistaken. ED has done quiete an impressive job getting the pandora out of the dirt after Craig abandoned it. The current missituation in terms of business comes, again, from Craig who sold EDs units without being able to pay them (because of refunds - as he claims, or because of iCP2 prototyping, dunno), hence ED is asking for donations.

Sad thing is the damage is probably worse than these 20k, it's also - again - bad PR for OP whilst it in fact should only bad PR for Craig...

Keep it up ED - you're awesome.

Finally! I'd love to assist in any way that I can. I feel as if I've been a positive influence and would like to continue that trend if possible. Also what is the method I need to do to cancel my cancellation? Your response has shown me that you've listened to your customers and are making direct and positive movements towards making the Pandora experience as awesome as we know it could be.

I am an idea factory. If I can help it would be my honor to do so.

Yes, your posts certainly helped a bit.

Well, to cancel the cancellation, let whoever you sent your cancellation know that you want to cancel it.

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to see that you have a long term goal to at least try to make the price lower as a long term goal. This is what I like to see, instead of comments like "$699 is the only way." I hope you have some intention to try to keep Pandora 2's price reasonable as well.

Good job, ED. As an unfulfilled first-batcher, and I'm seriously considering a 1GHz upgrade now, which would've been out of the question for me a week or so ago.

Maybe some of you know some blogs, magazines, websites we should approach for a Pandora Review?

I would suggest seeking and developing a respectful relationship with under represented members of the gaming community. Specifically female and lgbt gamers.

Edit: Although their influence is vast and far reaching, these groups are often ignored and marginalized by the mainstream. By treating them with the respect they deserve this could be the beginning of a beautiful relationship! Especially since most people tend to ignore them or even acknowledge their existence.

Here's a quick list of sites that haven't been sorted or prioritized.

I'm sure there are more/better choices out there. This was just a quick look.

I'm confused about the price of the preorder upgrade. Once upon a time I ordered my Pandora for 330 EUR. Upgrade costs 375 EUR. This is 705 EUR total, a lot more than the price of a new 1 GHz Unit, which costs 660 EUR.

Thats probably, for the 256mb firstbatchers?

Simple, contact the two following people about getting onto their show. Both people have a decent following(or so they claim I've not checked it) but still they both are geared towards people who are likely in the market for this product. Also the latter one has said repeatedly "Well we hope this isn't going to turn into a pandora thing" ie talking about how the product will _never_ ship. So sending them a review unit should shut up that bad sentiment in their minds and also the sentiment that has taken root in the people who watch it. The two that I'm talking about are http://twit.tv/floss A show about open software and hardware(apparently) since they recently did the little thing about water robot thing. Also they do a fair amount about software so it should still allow you to get on there. At least I think you should, I don't know about going to that first one unless the schematics for the thing is are under an open hardware license, if it's not I'd suggest avoiding them since you'd not likely be able to get on there.

The second one is the http://www.jupiterbroadcasting.com/show/linuxactionshow/ They are constantly talking about how the QT tablet is probably going to turn into another pandora, so giving them a review unit will shut up any sort of things that they have in their head about the product. Seeing that it's shipping should also help bolster people's ideas about actually buying something that runs open source software, and is made by the community that manages to ship. Everytime they talk about another open source based hardware product, they talk about this one, and how bad it ended up and how it just died(in their minds it has). So giving them a review unit should get you some traction with that kind of audience, and also help bolster some more talks about it. I'd still try the first one, but I'm not sure if this product would be accepted or not, but it's worth a shot.

Both of those podcasts have a decent following(from their own claims) so it should help jolt the product forward.
