Hi,

I'm sorry if this has been answered elseswhere, I've searched the forums before posting but found nothing :(

Feel free to flame me to death and/or delete this thread if it's yet another stupid question ;)

So, I've tried MPlayer to play this video from archive.org : Buster Keaton's Sherlock, jr. (1924)

It worked fine on my good old GP2X :)

But on the Pandora (HF4) it's slooow, even if I overclock to 800MHz... (the sound is OK but the video is slooow)

I'd like to know where does this slowness come from ?

Is it from the WMV format ? From the player not being DSP optimized yet ? From something else ?

Thanks for your help !

Bye, Magic Sam

This sounds more like something misconfigured or something than just being slow, so switching it to use OSS probably won't change much, but it's worth doing anyway.

Modern .mov is h.264 and aac for the most part. Pretty common stuff we know works under most circumstances, given reasonable resolution and stuff.
