One thing missing from the Pandora...

I bought the Fallout 3 Survival Edition which comes with a wearable full size Pip-Boy 3000 (clock). If needed in post-apocalypse I can mod the pandora into it..

And Omega Man just wasn't a good film. I Am Legend with original ending is much better than the other movies based on the story.

Just thought the boys could start teasing and blackmailing each other and eventually sell out each other's secrets.
I sure would have been afraid of that happening sooner or later...
Unless you tried trading sheep porn with your friends I doubt they would have made fun of you about it. We would tease each other all the time but more as a joke than anything. Oh and since we got onto this topic, I was right on the cusp of scratchy pay per view porn and animated GIFs when I was a teenager. lol

when i was a kid there was no internet so we just swaped porn on disks.
stag is one that sticks in mind.
whats to stop kids swaping sd cards.
i bet kids with ipods and psps swap porn, i don't know this for a fact, but if i was 13 again I would.
Oh they do. My buddy was telling me that his neighbor had to take his son's PSP away from him because of trading porn on it. Funny stuff.

I get the feeling the porn industry is fuelled by men/boys who don't have a girlfriend or wife

Don't be so sure. The porn industry is a multi-billion dollar industry that will NEVER go away. The simple reason for that is because everyone (by this I mean all kinds of people, not literally everyone) looks at porn. Young and old. Black and white. Male and female. Single and spoken for.

Many people who are in a relationship continue to watch porn to satisfy their needs DESPITE the fact that they are sexually active with their partner. Regardless of whether their partner knows or not.

Simply put: the porn industry is fueled by all types of people, not just the lonely and sex-deprived.

what an entertaining joke topic!! The troll thingy made me laugh, back on the subject, the built webcam couldve been nice and the solar panel was good as well just too dangerous for heat I guess...

I really wish second shoulder buttons wouldve made it (l2 r2) and the analog thumb buttons didn't make it into final right?

Both movies are pretty terrible. They don't really scratch the surface of the potential for such a film, And both have lead actors that aren't good enough for the one-man-show nature of most of the film.

"Omega Man" is a great name though.

A server back-end

Well I wouldn't say it's missing from the hardware - but I've not seen any existence of it.
End of November *excited* I'm going to get a parcel, I'm going to turn it on and as far as I'm aware very little will happen.
I'm then going to trundle off around sites all over the place to get random apps in random states and I'm going to have fun tinkering.
What would be nice is some sort of portal - nothing too fancy, just a link to the mothership when you boot up in WiFi range. People push their apps onto it and then I pull them off onto my Pandora. People update their apps - my Pandora tells me, and asks if I want to download.
At the basic level, it could just be something like the installers you get when you jailbreak an iphone - all the way to some xbox-live monster.
I'm not whining I promise. Just on one side we have some great hardware - and on the other loads of people doing cool apps/conversions - but there just needs to be something in the middle to help glue it all together into a platform.

Either the on-device clicking optical mouse as similar to the Raon Everun.

or

A HDMI port which lend the posibility of viewing webpage on 1920x1080 resolution.

I would be willing to pay an extra $50 for either of the feature.

I could really imagine some people spending more time to collect and update stuff for their pandora than on actually using it!
So while it would be hard to pull off, it might be a good way to save some time. On the other hand, there will be the file-archive for most things and some people actually enjoy checking for updates. Some also insist on reading some comments on new versions before they update their GP2X/Pandora. Personally I don't think that an automatic update system would be worth the coding effort. It could even prove annoying if it checked the web for updates on the dozens of apps you have on both of your SD cards just when you were about to run an emulator.

I know this has been discussed before and that the Pandora hardware is not capable of outputting digital signals, but wouldn't rendering a webpage in 1920x1080 instead of 800x600 drain all the RAM anyway?

 Which websites require such a resolution?!

@PandoraNoHako: Isn't something like that already in existence and called a repository? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_repository
and yes from what i have heard Pandora will have a repository ( official ) and hopefully be able to handle third party repositories

@eksasol: not only is eksasol right but the video card in the pandora wont have those resolutions as an option ( SOMEONE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG PLZ) From what i have heard the beagleboard is able to output these resolutions and the same has the same omap as the pandora, only the beagleboard has a different layout and comes with hdmi. So yeah the pandora COULD output to 1920x1080

Another quality thread from forum.openpandora.org, thankfully this one didn't stray off topic at all and get reported. <_<

Hey, I'm really not against the humorous stuff, and often indulge as well. But some consistency is required on these forums if other threads get mods talking about getting off topic, poosibly because of who goes off topic.

What's missing from Pandora? Nothing, and lots. Pandora is what it is. If it were something else it could have the USB sorted, monitor output, a couple more keys on the keyboard (just so that we didn't have to have hundreds of posts discussing '.' and ',' or 'ctrl' and 'alt'.), mobile phone capabilities, etc. It could have more RAM, better / faster/ bigger this and that. But then it wouldn't be Pandora, the size of Pandora or the price of Pandora.
