OpenPandora+Android?

I have no appetite for Android on the Pandora; what are the benefits? I certainly wouldn't mind another option, but I would much rather see focus on the current OS etc. Thanks to all the devs who work on the operating system.

i'm agreeing with some of you, android should not replace the current OS/firmware. I got the Pandora for the desktop feature OS so I could do PC tasks on it. Android would be nice just to run the Android games on the Pandora.

instead of android, focus should be on improving N64/PSX/Getting Started on DS, suspend to ram and a new kernel

google ROX

apple SUX
Fix't.

But @gizmoagent, if you're up to it...

But @gfrancisdev, I seem to remember that programs can be run natively written in C++ on Android... Was this a lie?

Jourdy, Google is no better than Apple, but in a different way.

All they want is to get more info about you to sell more targeted ads.

And quite frankly, I don't mind targeted ads. They find me what I want.

Me Gusta

Ha. Made my day.

On topic: Sure we could dabble in another OS, but what would be the benefits?

Sure we would have access a broader software library, but that is all that I am seeing. There is nothing in the library right now (excluding of course, things that require additional hardware features,) that I can spot that Pandora could never do in its future with its current OS. Besides, a good deal of the Free software (as in free beer) are supported by adds anyway. Which I know some of you may not mind, but for me, this is a major turn-off.

There is, however, an advantage to supporting android: More fame, more blood, more attention, more developers... However, this could be a double-edged sword.
