So before I decided that I had to have a pandora I had a psp. I used it to play my ps1 games (with custom firmware) and I also have a ps3. My ps3 is modded (case mod) so that it can play burnt ps1 and ps2 games. When i had my psp there was an option for me to convert my ps1 saves from the psp to ps3 and when I sold it I put them all on my ps3.

So heres my question. Is there any way that I could copy/convert my saves from the ps3 virtual memory card format to a format that any emulator can use? I know that one isn't really released yet so it is kind of a stupid question but is it possible at all or is it encrypted or something?

It's encrypted. The PSP has a program (CWCheat) that can export PS1 saves to the .mcr format most emulators use, but there's nothing like that for the PS3, sorry.

In theory can he run a software Gameshark with a memory editor and copy the savegame data out of memory by hand?

I know it isn't the easiest idea, but it might work. Although I was never a fan of the software game shark, I always use the ones that plug into the parallel port.

If you need to find the address of the savegame in memory you can load up ePSXe with PEC on a computer (Playstation Emulation Cheater) http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/psx/p...gins-tools.html

It should scan that memory quickly.

I'm back from a quick scan of the google:

http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/ps2-memory...s3-formats.html

This tool "allows you to extract files from the Playstation 3 virtual PS2 and PS1 save that is created when playing a Playstation 2 or Playstation 1 game on the Playstation 3"

http://www.ps2savetools.com/download.php?o...load&cid=12

I have no PS3 or PSP, so I can't verify any of this. I hope this works for you.

Yes your right, this was a rather noobish question given that memory card copiers have been around forever.
